Missing Levers

I've searched on the site and seen various answers to this issue but I don't see the solution. I keep getting the missing levers message when plotting the train's route. The switches are there and there are no broken links to the tracks. See below though. Am I getting the message because the separation leading to the switch has no switch?

I've found that practically any problem will cause an AI train to report "junction has missing lever" when it can't plot a path to the next marker. That includes weird things like track that somehow overlays another track with the marker on the wrong layer, or track direction markers facing the wrong way, it reports "missing lever" simply because it can't find the path and assumes that must be the cause. Troubleshooting that type of thing takes time, best done by placing a string of track markers every 100 yards in the suspect area, then closer together as you narrow it down. That's if you can order the AI to abandon schedule and drive the path yourself of course, that's the first thing to try and if you derail you've found the problem. If you can run the ordered path without derailing, then you look for missing levers or direction markers facing the wrong way, if you don't find any then you go to temporary track marks.

There a few things you can do to start trouble shooting this. First, run a train through manually, doing exactly what you want the AI to do, as well as taking and diverging routes. If you make it through with out problems, then you need to omit steps from the AI one at a time (don't forget to put them back when you go to the next one) so that you find which step it hangs up at. If you have a problem running it manually then you need to fuss with the offending point in surveyor. My gut instinct is to make sure that one route is longer than the other, and by doing that you will adjust the switch to the point that it will fix or reveal the problem. Good luck, just remember there is no need to apply a hammer to the computer (or so I'm told).

Thanks for the responses. I gathered it wasn't going to be easy as I've been troubleshooting this for a while. I'm wondering if there is an inherent problem in elevating the track as I've done. I made a spline (green bridge structure) and elevated the track (concrete block rail) on top of that. The whole structure sits on top of water actually (Venice route) so it makes troubleshooting tough. The base is actually an object with a map of the area superimposed on it wherein I'm placing the other objects such as the noted station. This whole structure sits over the water. The "train" I'm using is called a PeopleMover with invisible bogies.

G'say,

The missing lever report can alsp show up when trains depart too quickly after one another from a station.

Have a good one,
E.C.

I wrote a tutorial in another post which explains how to find a missing point lever or broken track easily. Place a series of track markers along the route of the AI train at regular intervals. Call the one nearest to your test train "test 1", the next "test 2 and so on. Then in driver instruct your test train to drive to "test 1". If the test train moves off then you know that section is ok. Rinse and repeat until you find the bad section. You may choose to add more trackmarks to narrow it down further.

This is a good idea. I'll try it. I've already narrowed the problem to half the route so this should speed up the troubleshooting.

Well I put a test mark about 100 yards away from the station and I got the missing lever message. Any idea what this is about? See below.:

From the picture no. Do u have a point switch between there and the station? If yes does it have a red and green arrow? if no then because it is elevated there is a possibility you may have unintententally made a junction that you canot see. I,m a novice with elevated track and I've done that myself. You could try relaying that section of track. There may be a problem a the far end of the station if there is a point switch very close to and ahead of the trackmark. I have also had that message for a missing point lever on an adjacent track once. Try that and post back.
