Missing KUIDS? Post them here!

It's a pain when all you have to work with is an author ID and kuid number for some of them. And no longer having access to the kuid index (my subscription ended Sept. 1 and they aren't taking any more subscriptions) means that it will be harder to find missing assets. Sometimes the index would turn up a hit whereas Google would not. There's nowhere else to go to search for missing kuid's, except by posting here and hoping someone can find out what they are and where to get them if there is a working download somewhere. Even DLS routes are guilty of using some non-DLS assets and packaged assets from payware routes, so they turn up missing when you download the route and have to hunt them down yourself and some of them turn up no matches on Google or just foreign sites. We lost a bunch of third party sites where some of these assets used to be hosted like USLW, The Backshops, TPR, but some assets like some Backshops assets like signs and buildings are hosted on Approach Medium and some of the steam locomotives are on a different site. So even if the assets are hosted elsewhere, if all you know is the kuid number and author ID, doing a search by kuid alone on Google will sometimes turn up no results, because the sites hosting the assets don't have the kuid numbers listed on the web page for Google to find.

Everybody bemoans over the loss of KUID index. Someone did offer to host the site for Pierre Paris, but he rejected or ignored the offer and the site died. In the end, there's nothing we can do about it and we have to move on and find other ways to download the missing assets if they are available. Note the "if they are available" part. Sites that have disappeared off to the ether on the ethernet are gone. Gone off to bit heaven with no way to obtain the content in most cases.

Why did Pierre reject the offer for the kuid index site to be hosted? It's going to be more difficult to find some missing kuids.

Yes, the loss of that site will be a big loss. I can't even use it anymore to December because my subscription expired on Sept. 1 and I can't subscribe again. The index found hits for some kuids where Google did not. If I get no matches on Google for a kuid then I'm stumped and I'll have to ask for help here. Some route creators were lazy and didn't provide a read me with a list of all non-DLS assets and what they are and what sites they came from. There are NEC routes on the DLS by farejoint with missing Baltimore building splines that came from the now defunct TPR. I have the buildings, but others who download the route won't be able to get them. I wish some creators would have reuploaded their assets elsewhere after sites closed, like how Approach Medium has some Backshop assets like signs, buildings and another site has some of the steam locomotives. The thing is that there is no easy way to replace missing assets with something else if you don't know what the assets are. If you do, you can replace them by cloning to a dummy asset then replacing in surveyor, like buildings and trees.

You're not missing anything. These assets tank the performance wickedly and you're better off placing building block objects instead. I found this out the hard way not long ago when I populated a city area with the old TPR building splines.

<kuid2:37581:40040:1> SP 50ft Boxcar FMC by therock. No contact or web site info. Script and kind is JR traincar, so maybe Jointed Rail? They have lots of boxcars and several packs, so it may take a bit of downloading to find that one.

I'm also missing these for a route called the Coal Hill & Burton Branch:

<kuid:30501:101073>,<kuid:30501:100017>,<kuid:30501:100008>,<kuid:30501:100014>,<kuid:30501:100002>,<kuid:783073:801002>,<kuid:30501:100010>,<kuid:30501:100018>,<kuid:30501:100015>,<kuid2:783073:801007:1>,<kuid:30501:100019>,<kuid:30501:100022>,<kuid:30501:100037>,<kuid:30501:100039>,<kuid:30501:100040>,<kuid:30501:100041>,<kuid:30501:100061>,<kuid:30501:101068>,<kuid:30501:101071>,<kuid:30501:101072>,<kuid:30501:101074>,<kuid:30501:101075>,<kuid:30501:101077>,<kuid:30501:101095>,<kuid:783073:400028>,<kuid:783073:801001>,<kuid2:783073:801003:1>

I downloaded some recent model routes from CMoehrle. Two of them have this missing KUID: <kuid2:44179:60013:127> . This appears to be a corruption of the built-in Auran commodity <kuid2:44179:60013:4> Coal. I hate to try to up-version the current coal commodity to 127, and I can't replace it in the routes by any method I know of, so is there any way I can fix it in those routes? I could change it in the config.text file, but that really only lasts until the next DBR.

The only upper version I know is <kuid2:44179:60013:9>, included in "GWR/BR Private Owner Wagon Pack 1" DLC and in NARM's "GILA Railway" route dependency pack. Curiously it is named "уголь (xVg)".

Trying this one out again in TRS2019.

Finding this last asset - NZR Track Yard 42-55 <kuid:309161:100304>

Is proving a bit confusing.

Gumiapo here https://gtcatalogus.blogspot.com/2016/02/nzr-track-pack.html

and trainzone here http://trainzone.co.nz/nzr_track_&_trackside.htm#trackpack

BOTH list the asset is contained within the trainzone pack, but it is NOT.

Anyone have this kuid to share, or know where it is actually obtainable?

Rico

EDIT: Found the missing track.

They ARE all on trainzone, but due to the confusing way Sirgibby organized the website pages and Gumiapos in-accurate link text make one believe all the assets are in the bridge pack.

The actual Download links are way down at the bottom of the NZR asset page

Here are the assets links:
