Missing Engine Specs & Sound Specs?

I have the original Trainz only.

A number of downloads (oddly enough every Norfolk Southern Loco) produces a "Missing Engine Spec" or "Missing Loco Sound Spec" message.

I've looked around in the program file to find out where the loco specs are kept to see if I could just copy an engine spec related to a different loco to the ones that are missing them, but had no success.

Can anyone explain where the loco specs are kept (I looked in the engines folder but don't see all the locos I have in the program) and how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Open in Explorer and look in the config.txt.

Could you explain a bit more?

I see Config.txt's in the Engines folder (when you look in the folders for each loco in that folder there is a config.txt) but don't see any for the locos I've added (either the ones that work or those that don't).

Which Config are you referring to and what folder are they located in? Thanks.

They are most likely separate downloads. But as said above, look into the loco's config.txt to see what Kuid(s) is/are referenced there for the missing items. You have to know the Kuid number to find the Kuid's folder in TRS 2004 (world/dispatcher/downloads folder) or search for it with CMP in TRS 2006.

If you do not know the Kuid number of the loco, add this line to your trainsoptions.txt in the game:

-showkuids

and when you see the loco in the game in Surveyor, use the "Get trains" icon (bottom left) in your trains menu to point over the loco wanted to see its Kuid number. Easy really :)

Then simply d/load these missing items.
