Missing? - downloaded assets

Another "newbie" who is totally lost after upgrading from 2006 to 2010.
Can someone kindly provide the file path for downloaded assets? My problem is that downloaded assets do not appear in the surveyor menus. Where do they go?? I don't recognize the download file name(s).
After selecting assets and moving them to the download helper they automatically download. Subsequently hovering causes the download helper to indicate the asset has "local" status.
Dreaming about how useful a toggle on the "pick list" would be that just dumps selected items into an "owner's construction kit icon, that appears on Session maps. Heaven forbid that it be called "favourites"!!...regards all

When you start Trainz, click on the star to turn off the favorites. Auran assumes that their built-in content is your favorite too, so anything you download won't show up until to click this star.

In the even that the stuff you downloaded still doesn't show up, then it's broken or missing dependencies. In Content manager, search for the item name, by date, etc. to find it, and look for a red !, meaning error, or a yellow gear meaning missing dependencies. This will prevent the content from loading, and the only way to get the items to load, is to repair them.

You are the Man!!

Thank you Dr. John, IT WORKED!! I had spent considerable time going through the 2006 & 2010 manual and thought I was following the download procedure EXACTLY. Apparently not! You have restored my blood pressure.

Simplest way is to set and save a specific filter for new stuff;

Click the ""Today" tab, then close the "OR" filter, change the "Date Modified" to "Location Local", then save the filter and it will show only what you downloaded or cloned today.

Ideally you want all but the left two grayed out, but if you hover over each icon it will tell you what it is. The triangle means it's been modified, crossed hammer & wrench it's open for edit - for a newly downloaded thing you want to right click on it, select Edit then "Revert", you don't want to "Commit" unless you've actually made some changes yourself. Next one merely shows whether it's a clone or original, last is the important one - red exclamation mark means it's faulty, yellow it has warnings but might work anyway, puzzle piece with the question mark means it's missing something it needs. Right click and View Dependencies, if there are DS icons you can fix it by downloading them, if there are question marks in that you're probably better off deleting it unless you want to try playing "google the dependencies" instead of playing with trains. :hehe: I'm new to Trainz and still astonished that people have put up with that nonsense for so many years, if it needs dependencies that aren't on the download station, or needs dependencies which in turn require dependencies not on the download station, then it don't belong on the download station. I'll be pulling my F7s as soon as I figure out who to contact for that, they're pretty but I don't put my name behind stuff that isn't simple and easy for anyone to install.
