Missing assets

I have just had a major clear out and re-instal of 06 in an attempt to rectify some of the problems that I was encountering.

I have been re-downloading some layouts however I keep coming up against missing asset problems.

Does anyone have any of Jonny211's assets:

46219:38013
:38016 :38018 :38019 :3022

They are coming up as missing, and not on the DLS.

And I did the Repair Library search too.

Has the author a site?

Ones I have are 46219:38016 and 3022

Easiest thing may be to send him an Email, he includes it in all his config. files.

If any have those missing assets I would be glad to receive them.

I shall try e-mailing Jonny211, although his e-mail address on the profile just bounces back, I will try the one in the configs.

Spent a good few hours yesterday, going through those assets that show up in 06 as having errors. A right 'p-in the-b', most of the erros seem to occur in the license/ description and other narrative bits that the author adds, I suspect it is a text-justification interpretation problem between 04 and 06.

There are also a few coming up with errors related to inability to load various textures

e.g.
Error: Could not load texture 'c:\program files\auran\trs2006/local/content nag3f44c6665\piwrprice sign.tga'.

Has anyone else had errors such as these or are they peculiar to my machine?
Is there an easy remedy?

I have had similar problems with older assets, TRS2006 is much more pedantic about the syntax of config files than previous versions. I have found plenty of very useful assets (mainly British outlines steam locos and rolling stock) that worked perfectly on TRS 2004 but are flagged as having errors in 2006).

To start with download Paul Hobbs’ “A Guide to Error Fixing Assets for TRS2006” from here and work through it carefully. It is easy to follow and explains the “Error: The tag 'xxx' is not permitted within this container. (Container type 'yyyyy')” issue very well.

Another common error is missing texture files, many are generic textures used in more than one asset. If you get a “missing xxx.tga texture file” message, search for it in other asset folders and copy it across. In one or two cases I had to fake it by creating a new texture of the same size and type of other similar ones – a bit of guess work is needed.

The four Jonny211 assets that you are looking for no longer exist. It would be easier to edit the config files to delete any reference to them.

Thanks for your advice. I shall follow-up on your suggestions.

I seem to recall in the dim and distant past having done some editing on 'errored' assets and then tried to upload a layout - I think it was Merioneth - and it kept being thrown back with messages to the effect that the corrected assets were not recognised or something similar.
