yep,if they haven't done that, the steam engine would not be safe to use if her boiler was not checked before running again, after all, that is the critical part of any steam locomotive and the worst thing that can happen,it can explode like what happened on another steam engine that operated on the Gettysburg Railroad,a 2-8-0 consolidation due to the firebox issue and this is a reason why it is required to check the boiler/firebox of any operational steam engine to avoid problems such as this!

well well, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, eh?

Anyways, dpfan, 261 first of all won't be going anywhere for a while as she's under overhaul I believe. Secondly It would take an awfully large amount of money to get her out to Steamtown from Wisconsin (or Minnesota I guess actually) where she is now. They've got enough things to pay for without having to pay for a trip that long.

Edit-- not to mention if the railroads along the way would or would not permit such a journey.

why does steamtown need another piece of equipment to destroy, when they cannot even maintain what the currently have? Just like CSRM...................................

CSRM? and let's not forget about how when it was brought, the Big Boy could still be run, I bet not now,

well, as far as I know. What I would do dpfan is look for news and just see what happens. No need to post whatever you find here unless the others think otherwise. Meanwhile, it seems as though we have quite hijacked the original thread.

who cares again? this thread was dead, so unless you got SOMETHING worth posting (ONLY NEWS!) KEEP IT DEAD!

the steam engine stays in its original state!

oh man, this thread hijacking was completely uncalled for,it looks like someone had not learned their lesson the first time, for the last time, the 261 stays where it is unless other wise, now leave the engine alone!:o
