Microdem, HOG, and Surveyor problems

I've been working with Microdem, HOG, and Surveyor to try and create Manitowoc, WI. I've created both .tga files successfully in Microdem, created a .gnd file using the HOG program, and created a save file in Trainz. But when I replace the .gnd file in my save folder with the one I created, and I go to open my saved route, there is nothing but air. No grids, no terrain, just the "atmosphere." I'm using the latest versions of Microdem and HOG, Windows 7, and I have Trainz 12. I use content manager to find the folder, then I commit it to the game after I replace the file. Does anyone have a solution or answers? Thanks in advance.

Probably you have missed something in the creation of the dem, it does work in TS12 as I tested it out a week ago using a dem I had made a while back.

Or maybe its related to having to run things as administrator in Win 7.

Working....somewhat

Ok, so I've got it somewhat figured out... I turned off my UAC on Windows 7 and set TS12 to run as admin, and it worked. I replace my .gnd file and when I open my game, the terrain is there. Just a couple more bugs. How do I get my TIGER image to show up on the terrain so I can trace the route? Also, my baseplates only follow the rail line. How do I get more of them to show up. Thank you in advance once again!

You need the HOG textures, which you can get from TrainLuvr's website.

Not certain, but I think you want to make the route wider with more 'boards' (baseplates?) either side of the track.

HOG defaults to 2 boards either side (TRS04 draw distance was 1500 meters, so wider was pointless) but there is a 'filter radius' option right near the bottom of the HOG 'Additional Data' section. Each mark is one baseboard (720 meters), you can select from one to eight boards either side of the track...
