Merging

I have 2 maps (2010) . When I try to merge them I get..
Error message...One or more layers have the same name, names must be unique.
In the layer window it shows 2 route layers and 1 session layer.
Can anyone tell me what this means

Hi Merrill

When you merge a route and that message shows up click on the layers tab then when you see the layers they both have the same name, click on one of them and rename it, then it'll let you merge route, what I do is merge the 2 layers into just 1 layer than renaming it.
