"Meets" Shots

Here's a couple on the Rio Grande Southern.

D&RGW #463 heading southbound takes the passing siding at Brown station, while RGS #20 waits on the main to take on water before climbing the hill to Dallas Divide.

On another day...
D&RGW #463 waits on the passing siding at the Peake section house, while RGS #20 reaches the summit of Dallas Divide.

Train meets? You mean like introductions and shaking hands etc?

Oh I get it!

You mean trains crossing. Well how about a four way crossing...

Westbound Thespian Thexpress 'crosses' a Garratt hauled mixed freight while another eastbound freight sits in the loop. But wait, that's only three trains 'crossing'...

... four trains take up a lot of space and at the other end of the loop a branch comes in. Aussie class 38 3801 sits on the branch also westbound at the head of a rake of hoppers.

Yes Austral Bay 5a. So if ya want an example of my own work...

The daily passenger sits in the loop at Landing while a Garratt hauled coal train heads toward Cooder Downs on my Denniston branch.

Same scene different view.

The next crossing loop and yet another coal train to cross. This is Sloven's Creek.

Not too many crossing loops involve bridgework (it's flamin' expensive!) but with hills, tunnels, creeks and coal trains galore it's sometimes unavoidable.

At Skipton yet another coal train. Maybe it's time to double track?

Cheers

Nix

Well today in Green Bay it was a very cool and yet dark fall day on the ELS....Here we see the 2 trains meeting in the yard at Green Bay where the WC train will swap cars with the ELS before heading north out of town to Crivitz....This ELS train is a local that runs out of Green Bay daily and works the branch line at Oconto Falls....
