Measuring FPS using Trainz Profiler

I looked around for a way to see my FPS while running Trainz and saw only Windows programs. During my search I stumbled on Trainz Profiler under the Trainz Developer Menu.
Thus no need for any user of Trainz to have a secondary piece of software to measure FPS. I love how I can crop window down to see the FPS only and place window on top while running route. Is the FPS reading under Trainz Profiler reliable? Do you use Trainz Profiler for this?

That's a good idea. The other thing too is it's strictly for Trainz and there's no other influences going on like there sometimes is with third-party utilities.

Trainz has a built in feature for this, if you go to the in game menu options then on the first menu (I think) you can set the FPS rate to be displayed in Surveyor and/or Driver depending on where you want to see it. Quite useful and also means you don't need to minimise the game to see it.

Hello everyone.

If you have two screens, there is also HWiNFO ( https://www.hwinfo.com/ ) which is free for personal use and can also give information on many other parameters such as memory usage, processor usage, ...

It also has the advantage of presenting historical data, not just current data.

He also shows the difference between what is presented, by the game, to the graphics system "FPS Presented" and what is displayed by the screen "FPS displayed". For example, on my laptop with two additional screens connected, I can see that for the same sequence, the "FPS Displayed" is much higher when the TrainZ window is displayed on the laptop screen than when it's displayed on one of the two additional screens. These are good screens, but not gaming screens. The adaptateu also plays a role.

As I understand it, TrainZ's statistics show "FPS Presented", which isn't necessarily what you see on screen. As always, it's the slowest link in the chain that determines performance.
