Marias Pass for Trainz 2012

Can the Marias Pass Route Plus meant for TRS2006 work in Trainz 2012?

Planning to get 2012 and transfer my Marias Pass Route files in TRS2006 over to 2012. Will it still be playable?

Ethan
Don't forget to register your Trainz - no versions are showing.
I managed to transfer the full route to TS2010 I don't know about TS12 as you may find a number of missing Kuids in TS12.
I did it by creating archive files of the route and sessions from TRS2006 and loading them into TS2010 I then picked up any missing kuids in the content manager. There is a new Marias Pass route due out you could wait for that. - see the Payware thread.
You could buy TS2010 from Auran it's very cheap now as there are plenty of locos that I think are missing from TS12. I'm still waiting for my TS12 to arrive on DVD from N3V.
I would advise not buying TS2010 from Amazon I bought TS2009 from there and found that you need to get any patches from Just Trains so there's not the support that you would get from the Trainz forum.

I managed to get he full Marias Pass route from Trainz Driver into 09, then 10, It works just fine.

I am going to take the advice of many here and have both 10 and 12 on my machine....

I dont know. Due to the fact that TRS 2012 does not have compatability mode, there is a chance it will not. You cannot see unless you try, or unless somebody has it and trys it and tells you otherwise. TRS 2010, What i have, has compatability mode allowing things from old trainz to work in it.

Enzo
The transferred route and sessions work fine in TS2010 native mode I never use comparability mode I go back to TR2006 instead.
The Maria Pass looks far better in TS2010 than it does in TRS2006.

In 2010, are all the locos updated?

I see that in the later Marias Pass Route versions there is a updated BN loco(Lead) with a Union Pacific loco in the Heavy Haul Over Marias session. In TRS2006 in the same session, an ATSF SD40-2 is the lead loco while a BN SD40-2 is the second loco.

Is this the case in 2010?

Ethan
Whatever locos were used in TRS2006 will be used in TS2010, but you can change them by substituting other locos. If you do this, save the session with a different name change the locos and change the name of the lead loco to the same as the old one this way the session will use the new loco to run the session.
That's how I substituted the PRR T1 train for the sightseeing session train.

Ken

With regard to 2010 it used to be the case that you got your first patch from Just Trains, an easy process, and the rest from these forums as normal. But I now believe you can get your first patch in the usual way as well.

Then it will probably work in 12 then too. That is due to the fact that it runs in TRS 2010 native mode.

mine works fine in 012
you will proberly get a few unknown kuids, ground textures from memory
just delete these from config file and replace then with something similar
and you should be fine
can't remember if there was any faulty content.if so ,unfortunitly you'll have to fix them

cheers,

SOME OF THE MARIAS PASS WAS NEVER COMPLETED

I was rather disappointed when I went to the DLS to download the other two stages of the Marias Pass Layout, because what we get in TRS 06 is only the flat part of it, and I went to download the part with Whitefish and Red Eagle in it, so that I could see just how well Auran would do with that layout in comparison with the old MSTS version, which was done back in the days when graphic clarity and detail was not all that important, (around 1999, 2000, 2001 era when MSTS was about the only popular train sim on the market back then and Auran was only in its early days, maybe TRS 1, or UTC.

All I saw when went to the DLS to download and compare the two versions of Marias Pass, was nothing more than the topology on the blank baseboard, not even any ground textures, nothing, but just something that looked like it was being started...

What we get in TRS 06, is only part of it, the part that ends at Shelby, we don't get Whitefish or Red Eagle, or any of the part that we saw in MSTS...

I was fairly sure that Auran would have done a much better job of that part of Marias Pass than the dreary dark eerie and rather dated version from MSTS...

I would like to see the Whitefish part of Marias Pass completed, because I think this was probably the most exciting part of it, on the downlslope with all the tunnels and snow shelters etc...

The part we get of Marias Pass is The Wheat Belt part of it that goes to Shelby, and not being familiar with Marias Pass, I idon't know whether the part we get in TRS 06, is sthe first part, the middle part, but as far as I could guess, the Whitefish part, the part we got in MSTS would be the end part, but the TRS part of Marias Pass would probably be the middle part, (the US Wheat Belt section to Shelby)

Are you talking about the built in route on TRS2006 or the full route that was bought from Trainz.de. I was referring to the full route which is Whitefish to Shelby.

Ken

The part we got as a built in route in TRS 2006, does not included whitefish, or Red Eagle... When I first saw that the Marias Pass Layout was done and included in TRS 06, the only part of it that is in TRS 6 is the relatively flat part of it. I then read that there was two other sections of it in the DLS. Hoping to get a chance to compare the same part of the Marias Pass with that of the old MSTS version of it, I went to the DLS to the layouts section to find them, only to find that the other two parts had only been done as far as the topology on the blank baseboard... so I didn't go any further about downloading the rest of it....

It would have been very intersting to see how Auran did this part that took in Whitefish and Red Eagle that were in the MSTS... but that is not to be.

It would be nice to see all of the Marias Pass completedm not just the part we got as a built in layout, to Shelby, which is what would be the wheat belt stretch of it... It would need someone to take over and complete the rest of that magnificent layout that was not in TRS 06, whether that will ever happen, who knows?...It would be great to be able to run the entire rounte... The bit we get in TRS 06 is called 'The Marias Pass Approach'

I'd be very interessted in seeing the whole thing, from Whitefish to Shelby

When I bought TRS2006 I was so impressed with the built in part, Maria Pass Approach, that I bought the full route from Trainz.de. I was not aware that any other parts were on the DLS completed or not. I would suspect that Trainz.de took on the project as Trainz partners at that stage to complete the work. I think this is a superb route and I'm waiting for the Marias Pass X Route for TS2010/TS12 to be released.
See the Payware section there are a number of threads with very good screenshots.

All the best

The TRS2006 included route Marias Pass Approach was a sample of the much larger payware route done by HP Trainz as Ken has mentioned above. The three Marias Pass routes on the DLS were not done by them but were done by another user using the same DEM maps to get the terrain correct but were uploaded as a do it yourself project. The two are not connected in any way.
