'Lost Programme'

Hi everyone - this is my first post on you website, if you can help me I would very much appreciate it.
I am new to Trainz and have just installed Trainz Simulator Special Edition.
I am having no problem accessing the Trainz Portal site, but have lost the programme on my log in to Windows 7. The programme has not been uninstalled.

Many thanks

I am guessing that you mean the program icon is not appearing on your desktop? This may simply mean that the icon, a program shortcut, was not installed but the program itself has been installed.

I am not familiar with "Trainz Simulator Special Edition" but I am assuming that it is Trainz TS12 and that it was installed in your C: drive. In which case, you will need to do a search of your hard drive to locate the folder the program was installed into. I have deleted TS12 from my system but, from memory, you will need to use Windows File Explorer to

  • open your C: drive
  • open the folder Program Files (x86) or Program Files on a 32 bit computer
  • look for and open the folder N3V
  • look for and open the folder Trainz Simulator 12 (or something similar)

I cannot remember what the actual program is called (it may even have been called "launcher") but it will have a recognisable Trainz icon

  • Right mouse click on the program and select Create Shortcut

If Win 7 creates the shortcut in the same folder then simply drag it to the desktop. If it asks if it can create the shortcut on the desktop, click Yes

In TS12 it is the "Trainz application" that you make the shortcut from. (it has a small emblem of a loco)
Cheers,
Mike
