hi guys,

does anyone know of any good tram tracks on the dls? would prefer them to have the OH wires attached but could do them without if someone could also suggest proper bendy wires that i could use. would also prefer tracks & wires i haven't got to sit & spend hours on adjusting height. :D

thanks in advance guys.

Carr's solution is great. If you want something else, look for track that has the SAM prefix. This user made them with really, really great ballast and track detail.

Search on Nippon too because there are some nice Japanese tram tacks with the overhead wires in place and then catenary poles under the tackside objects that "snap" into place at the correct heights. The trams themselves are modern (I don't know if that's what you have in mind?) and can be reskinned. I just started installing one on a route I am rebuilding and reskinned them for a fictional transit company I have.

There are British tram tracks available complete with poles and wires., They also include a short length that when "bent" for corners, etc they do not appear odd. The poles can be for the side of tracks and there are also those for inbetween double tracks as well as single.

thanks guys,

I've already got ch strom tracks & i'd agree that they're good, (infact they're the 1s my system currently built with.) however, unfortunately I noticed the other day that they aren't actually on the floor
I think i must have some of the sam set too.
I'm downloading the nippon assets, I think they look good. Will try them soon.

thanks again guys

Unfortunatley the nippon tracks don't sit on the floor either :(

Track doesn't tend to sit on the floor. None of them do. You have to lower all the track and subsequent wires, stations, platforms etc...by 0.2m. That's what I do, it works and looks a lot better, especially the embedded kind that you see on streets. As for proper ballasted track, that can be left without lowering by 20cm :)

There is some track, which I can't remember where I got it, that has a built-in concrete base and wires attached. It works perfectly for situations such as this because when lowered not even .2m it levels out with the concrete floor. It works well too for track that is buried in the roads, especially the YARN series roads due to their thickness. Now if that didn't have wires, it would be good too for loading dock areas located on docks and along streets.
