Looking for some SOO Line DEMS

Hi all, I'm looking for someone to create some DEMS of the Soo Line's Manitowoc Branch from Manitowoc WI to Hilbert WI (about 25mi.) I have the USGS Topo maps, and would like to have the tiger lines and such.

I recommend investing in TransDEM. You can then download the DEM and the matching topographic map. The TIGER maps tend not to be very accurate and with the topographic maps lining right up on the DEM, it's easy to trace the route.

I see. For me right now its just a matter of coming up with the $30 for it and tthe time to learn which I am both short of right now.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but if you're still looking and short of $30, this tutorial ought to help. It seems like a lot, but it's fairly simple once you get the hang of it, just time consuming.

I'd highly advise springing for TransDEM though.

I downloaded microdem and hogs... if I had transdem, would I still need those, or can I get rid of those? I would pay the $30 to make life simple, and learn it.

If you had TransDEM all you would need is the data from a GS source (USGS if in the US), microdem and hogs are not needed. TransDEM is a great product and GeoPhil is a helpful person.
