I'm an avid fan of merging small routes in order to vary the scenery. Any suggestions for smallish routes? Could be 1 to 20 baseboards...

I have a small 04 route over at TPR called the Appalachian based on a model railroad layout I like.
I'm a big fan of these small routes and left this one "open" at one end to add onto. I've redone it in 09 with mostly built in content and have been adding another two boards to it. It's set up for operation but leaves room to expand.
Hopefully in the next week or two I'll be putting up the second version of it. I like the route and hoping to build it in N scale soon. I'm redoing it in 09 to test it out after SP4 and with the current content access, I had to rely on to much third party for the 04 version.
If interested in the 04 version, I'll send you the 09 to check out without the added branch line shortly to test out for me. I have about a half dozen or so of these little routes in different stages of completion. Most going to 06 because of more built in content to make it easier now that we lost the DLS.
Check it out if you like. The Mac version may throw a wrench in the works. I held of on 09 because it ran so bad on my system. SP4 made in somewhat usable so may be going to a higher version.

I can offer three small routes on the Download Station under my KUID 275817 (built for TRS2004 but I have imported them to TS2010):
RM1156 UK 1 baseboard, TRS2004 built-in content only.
RM1156 France 1 baseboard, developed from the above with a French ambiance.
(The names because they are based on a layout suggestion in Railway Modeller November 1956 - shows my age!)
Dukes Denver 7 baseboards, TRS2004 built-in content only, a UK light railway inspired by the Colonel Stephens lines.
Although country specific, all can be adapted for use elsewhere - I have done it. Incidentally, I am now updating Dukes Denver (which seems to have proved modestly popular) to take advantage of the benefits of TS2010.

NG Europe 1 - NG Europe 2 - NG Europe 2 Winter - NG Europe 3 - NG Europe 4 & NG Europe 5. (by DarkDan). All on the DLS. Just type NG Europe into the DLS "Title" search. (and all 6 routes/layouts should come up). Great little well detailed routes/layouts that can be joined if you use a bit of initiative...
