Looking For Norfolk Southern Excursion Coaches

Hello, everyone! I bought K&L's Norfolk & Western A and J Class steam locomotives a little while ago and have been enjoying them a lot! However, I've been wanting to find some passenger coaches to make a decent excursion consist for N&W A Class #1218 because I have been interested in the locomotive for a while!

If anyone knows of some good sources for N&W/NS coaches that could be used for an excursion train, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could tell me where to find them!

Like JCitron said, check N&W NS Powhatan Arrow on K&L. It's included with the N&W J Northern Mega Pack. It's a good one.

Are there any with interiors with seats? I did some reskins to some Trainz Italia smoothside coaches into NS which look like the 6 coaches NS used during the 21st Century Steam Program Sept. 2011-May 2017. NS auctioned off five of them in summer 2017, one went to NCTM in Spencer, a couple went to Alaska and I think 2 went to NY State somewhere. The coaches I reskinned have rideable interiors. It's a shame that the new NS program only lasted so long, but most of the locomotives are still being used in excursions off NS. 630 at TVRM just went down for its rebuild/inspection. 611 has an uncertain operating future despite the fact that it operated on the Buckingham Branch/Virginia Scenic from Goshen again this past October. Issues at the VMT sidelined it for 2024 and it's possible the C&O 614 could replace the 611 in the future on the BB at Goshen. They partnered with SRI from Owosso, MI this year and some of SRI's coaches were transported from Owosso, MI to Goshen, VA. I would have to get permission from the creator of the coaches to release them, they were originally California Zephyr coaches I think and might have been payware.

I have some personal reskins of TrainzItalia coaches with rideable interiors. But K&L has some but no interiors, and Peter's Trainz has some with no interiors. I wanted interiors, so I had to reskin the closest match I found. I rode 2 765 21st Century Steam excursions in PA, May 25, 2013 Lewistown to Gallitzin Horseshoe Curve Special and a lot closer to me Bethlehem to Pittston on NS and Reading and Northern tracks Aug 22, 2015 with my late mom who passed June 14, 2022 in the hospital, her man friend since 1994 and my younger brother. My mom was on oxygen so she had to rent these battery units with extra batteries to take on the train. Her lung condition got worse and she wound up on a ventilator during a hospital stay from late May 2022 to June 14, 2022. She was in the hospital several other times for various reasons, Nov. 2012 for almost a month because of swelling ankles, Jan 2017, Oct. 2018, June 2019 for example. We also rode behind 611 from Manassas to Front Royal, VA on June 4, 2016 and at Strasburg Rail Road Sept. 2019. I don't think any of those excursions will happen again. I want to see the UP Big Boy 4014 on NS in PA if it comes near me this year on it's coast to coast tour. I never saw it in person yet. It was never east of Chicago or off UP rails yet. UP is partnering with NS this year for the Big Boy tour to celebrate the nation's 250th birthday. UP wants to merge with NS, well acquire them to create a transcontinental class I railroad. I'm 52 and liked trains since I was in my crib. I like riding tourist trains and excursions, especially pulled by steam locomotives. I missed out on a bunch of rare excursions though especially in the 1980's that will probably never happen again. I live near Allentown, PA and we haven't had commuter rail service since Sept 1979 when the Philly-Bethlehem service operated by Conrail was briefly extended to Allentown from June 4, 1978 to Sept. 1979. Bethlehem service ended summer 1981. There were steam and diesel excursions through Allentown in the 80's and the one I rode on Aug 22, 2015 and an Amtrak Autumn Express excursion Oct. 29-30, 2016. They stopped those fall excursions after 2017 and banned charter trains and excursions in March 2018.
