London Transport Museum

I've tried the search tool but come up with nothing on this.

I was in the London Transport Museum at the weekend and noticed a copy of London Underground Simulator. This is a new one on me and appears to be of German origin. Can anyone provided any more details about it please, e.g. is it any good? They were after around 30 squid for it and I thought that a bit dear to be taking a chance. I've found a few youtube videos but they seem to be from the developer.

BTW, it's an interesting place to go if you have a thing for urban transport. The new design for the 21st century 'routemaster' is interesting to say the least and actually a lot more pleasing than I thought it would be.

I'm trying to convince Mrs pfx that the soft furnishings on offer in the shop would be apt in our new (30's) house.

Thanks for that. Does anyone actaully have this? The graphics looks rather nice but I'm guessing with only being the Circle line, it's going to lose it's appeal fairly shoon.

Looking at the video I think its a little too realistic for me, no room for the imagination, apart from the few bits of litter that seemed to be missing.

The other interesting thing that turned up looking for alternatives was BVE apparently has had to withdraw some content based on copyrighted textures being used.

I think I will buy this, as the graphics are so good. It will help me with ideas for my Widened Lines route, as the lines are combined from Kings Cross to Moorgate.

I'll just have to resist the tempation to steal textures from it !!!!

Think twice. The graphics are good but the gameplay is mediocre, and it's very buggy:

Also, it requires product activation, so don't plan on using it more than a few years.

Edit: Apparently, there's a version of this route as well for OpenBVE, which is free and, in some respects, is of better quality, according to some reviewers.

Thanks for the warnings, but the bugs and poor gameplay won't bother me, it's the graphics I'm interested in, as they will help me specifically with one of my (long overdue) projects. I'll take a look at the Youtubes, people are saying that BVE is more accurate between KX and Liverpool St, which is what I'm mainly interested in.

.
What is this OpenBVE and where do you get it?
Is it safe?
Is there a website?
How do I get this LU or similar route?
What are "YOUR" (the Trainz gang) views on this BVE?

I looked at both BVE and WOS versions and from my point of view (graphics detail) the WOS is much better. And it certainly handles passengers a lot better than Trainz does!

Well, RR, you're not wrong, it hardly runs. The mouse movement is so jerky I can't do anything! Let's hope their tech support is decent.
But the graphics look really good, so I'm going to persevere.
