Loco in hidden layer

I have an invisible loco (that I can't identify). When I move another loco onto the same spot I get the message "error: cannot add train as there is already a train at this location on a hidden layer." when I go to layers, there is only one, which is visible. I want to delete the hidden loco but cannot.

Anyone have any idea how to sort this?

Look at the session and route layers, all of them.
In surveyor add a loco then slide it up the track towards the hidden one, if you couple to it it may show, then delete.
It's an old issue, had it myself.

How many locos do you have on the route/session.
If only a few list them, then using CM view route/session deps.
You should be able to find the errant loco. Make a cdp of it and save to desktop. delete in CM. Open route/session and it should be gone. If so save.
Install the loco cdp.

Open the minimap and zoom in on your 'invisible' loco. Now try adding a piece of track that starts below the loco (you might have to add a couple of bits of track). This should make the loco appear and you will then be able to delete it. It might take a few attempts and Trainz may freeze but keep at it and it should get the thing shifted.

Thanks for all the suggestions, in the end the only thing I could do was delete that section of baseboard so I am now rebuilding!

for future reference to all. i did have the problem with one of the tankers at JR before they did a new file for them. 1. find the hidden loco/car on mini map. 2. select track under the hidden car using the ? . there you can put the track on another layer and it will tell you that there is a car/object attach to the track, do you want to do this? hit yes. after that the hidden object or car/loco with show.
