Limiting Backups and Saving Routes

Is there a way to limit the number of backup files in Trainz's userdata folder? I'm trying to keep Trainz from eating up space on my hard drive. Also, is there a way to save routes and have it keep the same KUID? Whenever I save a route, it automatically creates a new KUID for that route, even though when it asks if I want to overwrite the route, I select 'yes'.

yes. On the launcher window: Settings> DEV. change the daily backup to a lower number.

It was set at 7, so I dropped it to 5. However, that doesn't explain why there's 31 folders in the 'backups' folder in my 'userdata' folder. I'm afraid to delete them as the last time I did that, it caused Trainz to go haywire, resulting in me having to uninstall it and reinstall it.

Trainz keeps them for 1 week from the creation date.

You should be able delete or move the oldest ones if you want without ill effects. I generally back them up to my backup drive along with my T:ANE install and more than once I have referred to the older backups for data.

Regarding the new saves. Are these sessions or routes. Using the CTRL+S should save and you will have the opportunity to overwrite a previous version.

You might want to retest this on a scrap or test route and if it proves to not be doing what is expected then report this issue as a bug.

Interesting, even at 7, I think it's supposed to self delete the old extras. Might need the advice of someone who understands the specifics better than I do as I am only novice at the finer points of deep issues.
