Light Rail and Truck Collide....video link

Yes, I know, it's on Fox News, so it's probably not real video. They probably had it made in a studio to fool everyone. Like the moon landings....:o

LOL... Good one, Ed!

They'll make up more stories on the collision then interview everyone around including the ants that live between the Belgian bricks in the ROW when no one else wants to talk to them anymore. :hehe:

FOX News only triggers facepalms from me. Speaking of which, I think another one is order to show how FOX News makes me feel.

I take it you prefer "real" news like the Daily Show? Or, outlets that require a mindless lemming-like inability to just believe their dreck and not ask questions, like Huffington Post, NY Times, CBS etc.?

The driver said light reflecting off of a building prevented him from seeing the light or the train.

I guess red means stop, green means go, and can't see anything means cross your fingers.

Unfortunately, all too often it seems that it does, as evidenced by videos like this one. I think the thought process must be something similar to this:

Car Driver: 'The gates are closing, the lights are flashing, and everyone else is (quite sensibly) stopped, but I can't see the train!'
~Accelerates to beat closing boom gates~

Car Driver, glancing left/right: 'Oh look, there it is!'

Loco Engineer: 'SH**************'

~Horns blaring, brakes squealing, engineer most likely having major simultaneous heart attacks~

Locomotive: 'Cool, Land Rover hood ornament! Just what I wanted'

Matt.

I'll give the driver the benefit of a doubt here regarding the reflections and sunlight. The other day I almost went through a red light because of the late afternoon sun reflecting off of Nuance's headquarters, which is down the hill from where I work. The reflection was like a laser beam shining into my eyes, and I couldn't see the stoplight. I stopped when I saw the cross traffic going through the intersection. At least I stopped, and wasn't playing with a mobile phone like a lot of drivers do these days.

Another time, I came up to a light and sat there frozen, or until someone beeped at me. I could not see the stoplight because the sun was so strong in my eyes, I couldn't see if the light was red or not, and didn't want to risk hitting someone. I put the sun visor down, and still couldn't see because of the angle of the sun.
