Lego Model--Too good to pass up...

That makes even my Lego stuff look like a joke

Probably doesn't look too nice around curves, though. Lego curves are...uh...sharpish.

There are also a few more good models here and here...second link is pictures of the NMRA 2007 convention, and there's some really awesome stuff there. I'll have to get some pics of my narrow gauge stuff and post 'em up here...

OMG!

That surpasses me by a long shot! All I have is a Santa Fe express set, a Steam Cargo Set, and a Christmas Special, plus a lot of Star Wars stuff....and a battleship I made on my own.

Cheers,

Yeah, I kinda noticed. Do a search for user "Savatheaggie" and look at his Berkshire in the curves. ;)

Some other good modelmakers are jamathis, J-2, Savatheaggie (page 2 for train models), and GrapeApe, plus Swoofty and Zephyr1934 whom you already mentioned. Back when it looked as though Brickshelf was going to close shop, I grabbed up all of their creations and saved them to my HD. It's probably about time I updated those folders.

EDIT: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=101884 <--A Big Boy model taking the curves. How prototypical. :hehe:

Both of those LEGO trainz are great Im a lego fan and it makes eveything
Ive made look like rubbish!!! (except my huge spaceship)

I made a cab-forward at one point in time, never got around to painting it (yes I paint my LEGO models into the paint job I want.)

lol paint them...

As a matter of fact, I'm going to be working on a DD40AX soon (still gathering references lol). I'm going to make it "full-scale;" that is, instead of making it unbelievably short, like the guy with the CSX SD80MAC had to, I'm going to make it full-length and all that.

Do post some shots when you're done, Kaos! :D

Will it be 6-studs-wide or 8?

Or 20? (Saw that once)

Yes, that would be John Neal and his crazy 20 wide trains. I have a but load of lego. Train wise, not so great, but my buildings are amazing. I just finished a building made completely out of dark red 2x2 plate. It looks just like a red building. I have exactly one 2x2 left.

Who knows? I'm using my DD35/DD40 (stupid Athearn) as a reference for the dimension ratios lol...

Well, but how many studs wide do you plan to make it in Lego? 6 is the normal width of trains, but there are some who need more width and so use 8-wide construction.

It's not a matter of dimensions, rather it's a matter of what scale you choose.

Yep, just make it the way you want it, run it for awhile to make shure you like it as it is. Then bring out the paint and have fun.

DO NOT use water colors as they will not hold on plastic during a hot, humid day. Trust me it ran 5 minutes and the paint was coming off because it got moist.

Amazing LEGGO I had it as a Kid played with it with my kids and heard on morning TV today Leggo is 50 yrs old today going by the pattern date ;) ...............I was lucky to build a house Lol
