so again i become victim of layers.i placed the trains run the route and found no trains so i again go back to surveyor and also found no trains so i start to place trains again but it says there is train already on this layer .so i merge the layer and all trains are back.so i again save the route and run the driver but again same thing happened.now i again merge the layers and trains comes back but when i go into driver i got a huge shock that this time not only trains are vanished but also everything except the texture has been vanished.now my route is nothing more then a blank baseboard with textures.when i search the items it shows that trains are still on the route but they are not showing up anymore also nothing is visible on my route.now is there anyway i can get my route working again

I am sure you know what I am going to tell you: Go back to basis. Really basics:
Make a basic board in Routes. Add some scenery and track. Give it a name and save route. Verify that when you open routes, is still there. Now add a loco and save. At that point the pront is going to ask you if you want to save the session with whatever name you want. Do it. Now open the session with edit sessions and verify that the loco is there. Give a name, driver an all that. Then go to drive session and you should be able to drive this loco. If you go to edit sessions and add a house or tree, when you save is going to ask if you want to save the route or overwrite it and create a new session. This is a source of confusion for many. If you say "don't save session", the changes overwrite the route only. No harm done. I you make changes to the session adding tracks, you may be in for troubles. Try it, as the route may be untouched, but now the session has the old layout and the new one, and they may interact making weird things. So, when changing anything related to scenery you can do it in routes or sessions, but be very careful with splines or tracks. For the same reason, you should be able to add a loco in sessions and that loco will show only in the session you saved, but not in another nor the route. Try to add all your rolling stock in routes, and then delete what you don't want in the particular session you choose. If you get clear all these concepts you may be able to get by. Clearly, the thing os sessions, layers and routes is confusing and bring problems that were not there in previous versions of Trainz, and should be addressed by the authority (if there is one...)

i always work with editing route and never edit the session bcz i am aware of this layer thing so i never try to build anything on session all my work is done o route and even trains are placed on route

Mixed up layers ive found can be sorted and I always edit from session and not route. Edit route can mess up any session you may already have. Layers merge session into route followed by merge route into session and then session into route. This Ive found will bring all assets back onto a single layer.

what i found today that the latesr locomotive released by jointedrail causing the trouble bcz today on another route i placed them and again all trains goes on hidden layer where as the trains without jr locomotives remains there

The safest way I have found and it hasn't failed me yet, is to keep away from editing the route and use one session for route editing, merge session layer with route, save and select overwrite route and overwrite session. No extra sessions created and everything works perfectly. Only start using sessions for actual sessions when the route is completed.

You can switch between layers, I usually edit in the session layer but switch to route layer when any track work needs doing. Then switch back to the session layer.
What build number are you on, you seem to have a lot of problems recently.

i have 49933. now i am looking for any way to get my route back and this thing is done by jr locomotive bcz today i again placed on another route and they again goes to hidden layer

Add a new layer and everything will show up again on the new layer. Delete the new stuff from the route. Uninstall the stuff that is giving you problems and reinstall them. Also make sure your build number is up to date ( I'm not sure if build 49933 is up to date). This has happened to me before when I installed some stuff from USLW. It's a problem with the game that I think they fixed with a update because I have not have the problem for a while.

To be honest i have never had this happen but i follow the strict rule of editing the route ONLY within that portion and i ONLY place rollingstock and locos within a session ive already created and only edit via "edit session". Never once have i had a layering issue at all in TS12.

What loco is causing you problems kamran? I can test it if its specific but if its any of ours in general i just cant see that being the cause.

yeah your right....was looking at wrong link here.

Either way im not sure whats going on here. Are you getting any script errors ( the red bug) in the bottom right of the screen when these issues happen?

I follow the same procedure. I only with there was a header or banner change that says Route Layer or Session Layer instead of just showing Surveyor. For me this is important because I have brain farts that make me forget which mode I've had open at one point. When I discover the mistake, I quit and start over again to ensure that nothing has been confused in the route.
