Layers in TS2010 and DEMs

I'm not sure where to put posts about TS2010, so I'll put it here.
A while ago I purchased TranzDem, but didn't use it because I found that if I made one mistake, like an unwise use of "smooth track", I would destroy the DEM. With the new layers feature, and the ability to lock layers in 2010, will I be able to prevent this from happening?
Thanks,
Mick Berg.

As far as I know TransDEM isn't compatible with TS2009 yet, and will probably also not be compatible with TS2010 yet. Of course you could make a map in TRS2006 and then move it to TS2009 or TS2010.

Microdem and HOG work with 2009 but in 10m squares only, so I can't see why Transdem shouldn't be the same, I think Transdem was unsupported in 2009 is the phrase I saw somewhere on here?

That could be the issue indeed. Compatibility or unsupported ... I might have misinterpreted what I have read before.

To get back to the original question, if layers work as they do in other programs then you should be able to protect the terrain layer from any changes made to the layers on which you are laying track.

Thankjs William. That's encouraging, but I'd like a definite answer.
