Laurel Line Screenshots

Very nice builings, great lighting, and perspective.

Almost every town in the US once had a trolley system, thank you for replicating something that is long gone ... super job !

Awesome work.

These have probably been asked, but... is that freight motor available? It appears to be a very accurate model. Also, are you able to make the artwork for the Greenliner reskin available? That way we can copy our Greenliners and drop the new files into the body folders to make L&WV coaches. Can't wait to try it out. (I wonder what L&WV diesels would have looked like... )

I lived in this area for a year. It's a shell of its former self, but it was way exciting the day I located the site of CNJ's Ashley engine terminal and the WB&E-Erie interchange from I-80.

We're still working on a few more Laurel Line buildings at this time. When we are done with them we will be moving on to the L&WV rolling stock. The greenliner models are there just for show. There are plans for new coaches and combination cars in the works. The boxcab itself is only about half finished at this time. It needs lots more work before it can get released. As time rolls on, these models will be posted on the Laurel Line site.

beautiful, utterly beautiful. I wish i had half your skills!

I'd type more, but i gotta go find a drool mop. :udrool: :udrool: :udrool:

I just noticed something on the first shot (the one of the ewen stop). the tracks seem to float, ballast and all, to the bridge piers. you probably know this, but if you set the plateau button to the last height before the abyss and set the terrain circle-thing (i should know what this stuff is called by now:o) to its smallest setting, you can create convincing outcroppings that also keep the track on level ground.

again, i'm sure i'm pretty much talking to myself at this point, but i just thought i'd say something. the route looks great either way!

Good eye! I've already gone through and fixed most of the bridges.

Great route. I especialy like your use of houses. Yes there are some new houses (Davesnow's and the brickhouses) availiable. The use of NZ-houses by Sirgiby has been very popular and these houses are also nice, but does not alway reflect the North American ones.

Thanks!

track

What track is that that you're using? It looks so realistic. Is it publicly available? Is this the same route that trolleys now run on from Steamtown platform south across the Roaring Brook curved bridge, through the tunnel? I rode the trolley once, but it stopped short of the curved bridge in a small freight yard because the extension wasn't completed yet. In fact, I'm working on the line myself but in present day tourist operations and Steamtown lines as well, and other RR lines like CP, etc. It's a huge DEM map going to Sunbury, Binghamton, Delaware Water Gap. I might merge it with my other route of merged routes Reading and Northern, Norfolk Southern etc. from Sayre, PA south through Pittston/Dupont to Jim Thorpe, Allentown, Reading, Harrisburg, Manville, NJ etc. It will be a huge route of northeastern PA railroads and parts of NJ, NY as well. Some of the items Bendorsey made are of great use to me for my route, like the DL&W Scranton Station, Roaring Brook curved bridge on the trolley line, etc.

The track is a repaint of the S301's track. It's still in testing. I may have to change the track to something a little more user friendly in the end though. If I do use the track, it will be added to the Laurel Line site with the rest of the models.

Yes, this is the same route that Steamtown uses today for their trolley excursions.

The present day trolley line goes from Steamtown, crosses a couple of city streets, goes under Spruce St. bridge, through a small freight yard, crosses the curved bridge over Roaring Brook, goes through the tunnel and then follows I-81 down to the ball park near Moosic. Would there be any feasibility of extending the trolley line further down the former L&WV right of way? Where did it go past that point? To Pittston and Wilkes-Barre? Is the Rocky Glen wooden coaster gone now? I thought I saw an article that it was razed. There used to be several amusement parks in NE PA, now all that is left is Knoebel's.
