Laurel Line Screenshots

Hi Scott,

I see it's coming along fine. :)
Btw, that red dot in the last picture is what I meant earlier. Press on it and you should be able to see what component is the culprit. I wonder if that's the breaker we've talked about.

Greetings from cloudy Amsterdam,

Jan

I checked that out. I think it's because there is no path to the breaker. But that's really just a guess at this point. I'll look into it further.

Well, I should have made it clearer, I meant street crossings.

Anyway, I´m taking a look on the Minooka Branch and will post some screens here when something "showable" comes out, if thats okay for you.

:)

Wow, these shots are very impressive:) Looks like an awesome line to model as well, i love the shots of the viaducts, and that one of the xing. Best of luck.

Ok now that I look at the crossing I can understand the problem. The road is crossing at a very heavy angle...

There is lots of space between the 3rd rails!

Just out of curiosity, why is there an "invisible" track (or spline, whatever it's called) between the two crossing signals?

I thought that 's how it's set up...It seems to works. Their to indicate to the slave which signals it's working with. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, you need the invisible track to connect the lights with the slave. Then you set up the channel for the triggers and the slave (I think there is one especially for crossings) and there you go.
:)

So what you're saying is that somewhere on the actual tracks there is a trigger, which sends a signal to the slave (which I assume is that blue and white thing), and then that's connected to the lights? In other words, train hits trigger on tracks, trigger sends signal to slave, then slave activates the crossing lights and bells? Please forgive me. I know a little bit about triggers, I just never seen a crossing in Trainz set up like that.

I thought you have to cut the running track and attach that invisible track to one of the running track sections (through the crossing) and then pull invisible track over the cut sections? Maybe i'm wrong, but that's the only way i can usually get them to work. I'd throw up a screenshot, but i don't want to hijack this.

someone correct me if i'm wrong?

You shouldn't need to do that if you are using triggers on the tracks. I'll look into this closer. Cuz now I'm getting confused!

After researching I found that you are right. The difference is that I'm not using any actual crossing. There is no moving traffic on the layout so mine is just set up for the light (signals) to work as the train passes.

Cant wait for the release, I love traction routes. Any chance we can get some updates later on?
