Latest build will not load...just gives desktop

This has happened before, but I always got around it by opening the last version of my build and then closing that and opening the most recent saved one. No good this time. It takes about 2 seconds of loading and then closes Trainz. Either trying to open to edit or to drive, it just boots out of Trainz altogether.

What can I do now? This is ridiculous to have so many problems with this program. The ONLY thing that the Windows 11 hard drive is used for is Trainz.

Where backups stored that I can re0install to try?

Thanks in advance.

Warnings are common, and should not be a problem, if the errors are on assets sometimes a double click on the asset in cm will clear them.

I have just about had enough of this nonsense. I use no AI. All trains are driven manually. Also, there is only one loco on the route right now....has only ever been one loco. I ask very little from this program and I get even less. 3 months of work lost. and this is not the first time. Had this problem from 2017, 2019, and now 2022. The fun is all but gone.

Check for content updates. There were a bunch of asset updates after SP6 came out that affect scripts. Usually, a script or mesh error can kill TRS22 and family right to the desktop.

Keep an eye on your hard drive access after updating. Sometimes, well it seems to be all the time now, the DBR doesn't show a progress bar after any updates. The only way to find out if it's running is to use Show Client Logs in the Developer menu.

How do I check for content updates?
In Content Manager:

Click on the small arrow point to Filter: Installed to expand the options.
Click on the + (plus) on the right to add in a line.
Change the line to read out of date by scrolling the list.
Set the option on the right to True.
Add another line by clicking on the + again.
Change the line on the left to read Packaged
Set the option to read False

Save the "custom filter" to something like Out-of-date and not built-in.

Once you've updated, you need to clean out the obsolete assets. You can create a filter for that too.

The filter for that is:

Obsolete True
Installed True
Packaged False.

This will list all the obsolete assets that can be deleted. Select them all and delete them to clean up the DB. Sometimes, obsolete assets can cause issues if they are still installed.
