Thought I'd show you some pictures of my latest creation Kirkby in Ashfield.
Closed in 1963, Kirkby in Ashfield station was situated between Mansfield and Nottingham and was next door to the Summit Pit.
This is in fact, a more abridged version of the complete track plan and runs from Sutton Junction station, through Kirkby and onto Annesley including the closed Great Central Spur near-bye as well as the relief road heading toward Butterly. That said, I have obtained a copy of a 1930's map and after this will make it "sleeper for sleeper" making this, more of a runnable test bed to evaluate techniques and ideas
Any advice or input would be appreciated
Looking down Station Road toward the Crossing
Looking South with a much abridged Summit Pit on the right had side, through out the length of the pit and the MPD, the track had relief lines either side of the through lines.
Looking across the lines to the shed
Again, looking across the lines to the shed with Lowmoor Road running alongside with Milton and Gladstone Streets Visible.
Br 4mt on a Stopping Passenger service passing a BR 9f hauling empties to Annesley
General view of the Southbound approach to the station showing the holding and loading sidings for Summit Pit
