Just a little help with the SP Daylight, please

You do not need your own website to post screenshots. Just upload them to an image hosting site (e. g., http://hostthenpost.org/), and copy the necessary code from there (e. g., what is in the forum code box) into your post here on the forums.

Regards,

Retro.

Thank you, retro...I shall give it a try.

My next project is to get the Pioneer Zephyr repaired and running in TS12.

I use Trainzmac, and am still relatively new at trying to correct errors and meshes, etc. Would one of you who have fixed the SP Daylight cars and GS-4 be willing to share them with me ? I would greatly appreciate it.

I am not certain the licenses allow us to freely exchange files....if I am mistaken, then I would be glad to share...till I find otherwise...gotta have respect for intellectual rights and copyright law.

For me, mostly a process of trial and error.

Start by downloading PEV's tools and tutorials....they are priceless.

Search the forums for advice on specific items.

TS12 is very picky about such things as invalid tags, punctuation, spelling, capital letters vs small type, correctly written texture.txt files, properly sized tga's and bmp's....and the list goes on.

I think you will find a lot of help from all here in the community....I sure did!

My experience with Mac's is limited...I have one of the original Mini-Macs that I use solely for i-Tunes with my i-Pod. (although I once had a PowerMac 8800 and a GS-II).

My Daylights are not perfect yet....need a better enginespec for the GS-4, and animated bogies for the PA units....plus some whizzo to write a numbering script for numbering cars in the consist. But, as of now, even though they are somewhat dated, I enjoy them.

Wish you well, and will be glad to offer what help I can.

Johnmac,

The problem is that the Content Manager for Trainzmac looks absolutely nothing like it does for the PC versions. I can not even find a way to get into individual lines of text, etc. I watched tutorials on youtube, but it does me no good since the differences are so drastic. As far as licensing goes, if its on the DLS already, whats the difference if you or anyone else sends me an updated version which I can use. Its already available........just not updated for Trainz 10,12 and Mac.

Highball:

Not having Trainz on a Mac...I have no idea about the differences in the appearance of CM.

I would think that the coding for Mac is completely different for the PC version, so likely were I to send you a file, it would not be worth poop on a Mac. However, I will be glad to send you a copy of the re-written config file....bearing in mind I am still tweaking it! Does your's look anything like this?

Let me look about to see if PC and Mac files are interchangable.
PEV's tools are fantastic, but don't know if he has a Mac version.

Highball....

First of all...Register your copy of Trainz for Mac.....then....

Maybe you can get more help in the Mac forum....a brief visit there shows a number of folks with similar problems with CM and other problems.

I have contemplated getting a new Mac, but after seeing the problems people are having, perhaps I will re-consider, and stick with my old Windoze PC.

Good Luck!

John,

You might be right about PC and Mac being different, yet I have successfully downloaded content from the DLC anf purchased from Jointed Rail others and it works fine. The script you included does not look like anything I've seen yet. But I will dig a little deeper and see what I can find. As far a my # being registered.....it is and has been since I purchased the game. When I try to re-register it says I can not register a number that has been already registered etc. My screen name is actually Highball 4449, yet somehow when Auran Customer Service helped me with a problem I was encounted with my FCT for the DLC, it became 4448 ?

I appreciate you trying to help ! Thank you !
