Issue with KUID's and Content Manager Plus

Greetings! So I recently downloaded a few Class 321's off the DLS, such as the London Midland, FGW and First Capital Connect variants, and they all say I require KUID:-1:42004242. So I got up the dependencies ready to download the KUID and it started downloading. The progress bar moved all the way to the right and then stopped, as if it had downloaded but it was not available, and the train was still missing the dependency. I just tried downloading it again and this time it said it could not obtain a download URL and that the KUID could not be found on the DLS. It has happened with a couple of KUID's for me recently, mainly when downloading pieces of track and bogeys and things. Can anyone help?

Regards, Jack

First thing is register your copy otherwise you'll download nothing.
Using content manager look mid left and you'll see a search function, left drop down box select author, right box put in #-1, select apply. Scroll down until you find that kuid number, it's the default car. r/click on it and select download.

I've registered my copy :) I've just done that and it came up with all the KUID's, thank you, however I've sorted by KUID number and -1:42004242 isn't there. It has -1:42004231, -1:42004232, -1:42004233 and then the next is -1:42004250. I'm not too sure what's going on. I've had Trainz for years but only registered my product on May 26th :(

It's a build 1.3 asset so should show in any version of trainz, what version have you got ?

I have Trainz Classics 1&2 with the Modula City and Harlem Metro North Line. I've heard about built in KUID's and something about needing to extract something or another? If that's correct? Or do they only show in the full versions of Trainz? (i.e. Trainz 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2012...)

I've never had TC1 or 2 so don't know if your restricted to what you can download. Can't see why though unless it's a bit like the S&C where you are.

kuid:-1:42004242, has been obsoleted by kuid:-25:434 which is builtin.

Note that quite a few builtins have now been transferred and re-numbered in -25 kuid group.

I'm a little stuck, lol. Okay I've tried searching KUID:-25:434 on the DLS and on my Content Manager Plus and nothing has come up at all. Do I just have a rubbish version of Trainz then? (if there is such a thing!)

Jack,

What version TS12 you got installed. You will need at least SP1 to see the kuid:-25 assets in CM.
Also your registration hasn't yet kicked in. You will have to wait a while.

No no I have Trainz Classics 1&2, released in about 2007 (ish, I think), not Trainz 2012, and I registered my product with another account, JackClare1995, but I made that account years ago and forgot about it. This is the same person, but my game is registered to my other, old account, JackClare1995. In terms of the two account thing: Basically, I had an account years ago that I forgot about and had already registered my version of Trainz Classics 1&2 with. I created a new account to contact someone (paulzmay) with about UK Tramway signals because I had forgotten about the old account. When I went on this account to register my product it said it was already registered with another account. I contacted Auran support and then remembered about my old email address, so I logged in with the username associated with that email address and that is the account I use to download assets with.

Should be able to use that account on the forum then as it's the same password and username as you use in Trainz.

Okay this is my other account, the one that I download things with :) I'm not too sure why the KUID's aren't showing up in my content manager. Considering they should come with every game but don't seem to be on mine, is there any way anyone can send me the KUID's that I need? I understand about the copyright laws and such, but considering they should be built in to every game and they don't seem to be in mine, surely copyright is not an issue as they're supposed to be on mine anyway? I don't know, just, I'm really grateful for all the help that you're all giving me with it :)

TheThe Trainz Classics series were meant to focus on one specific rail line each and so omitted unncecessary stuff, meaning a lot of the TRS2006 and TRS2004 built-in KUIDs were omitted. So chances are it was never included.

I don't have TC1&2 installed so I can't check, but I may reinstall a fresh copy on the weekend so I can check.

Kieran.

So there's absolutely no way of me being able to get the KUID's into my version of Trainz? Damn, looks like I'm gonna have to make do until I get enough money saved for Trainz 2012 then!

Check Game and PC World, actual shops that is, for 2006, sometimes they have it in the clearance bin for very little cost.

Yeah I think Trainz Classics 1&2 is a lost cause to be honest. ATLS doesn't work with it properly, everytime I tell a train to "drive" the bogeys disappear and it won't even move and not to mention this issue with the KUID's. Looks like Trainz 2006/9/10/12 is the only way out of this. Thank you so much for all the help, everyone! I really, really appreciate it! :)

You're welcome Jack.

I will check for those kuids in TRS2006 and TC1&2 and see if they're in them. I recommend getting TS2010 if you want to upgrade as it still has Compatibility mode for older content, but some do say that TS12 runs smoother. I have observed the opposite, but then again I'm only one person, not a majority. :)

Kieran.

Considering my "gaming PC" is a laptop, I think Trainz 2010 would probably be better than the newer Trainz 2012. Same with Railworks, I bought Train Simulator 2013 for £25 a few months ago and it runs awful on this laptop. Thanks very much! :) Do you, or anyone else for that matter have any idea why the bogeys disappear and the train just doesn't move whenever I click on the drive command? It's a real nuisance, as you can imagine

If your comp is a laptop your going to struggle running above trainz 2009, unless it's a good one. 10 + 12 are fairly demanding computer wise.
