Is there an easy way to tell if my route contains non-DLS content?

I've been using Trainz for the past 5 months, and have enjoyed the built in routes and some of the 3rd party routes such as Dermmy's East Kentucky on 2006. But now I'm primarily using 2010 and creating my own route encompassing quite a few different things.

Right now my goal is to only use DLS available and built in content in my route to make sharing simple. So I have held off downloading any routes from 3rd party sites that require extra non-DLS content for fear that I may incorporate some of it accidentally into the route I'm building. But the itch to experience some third party routes in 2010 is starting to get the best of me. If my CMP contains non-DLS assets and I happen to incorporate some of it into my current route, when I'm ready to release the route is there an easy way to tell what assets in the route are non-DLS?

My Trainzoptions is set to show KUID's, and I understand the difference between white, yellow and red. That would be a way in the creation process, but I'm not one to always check to see what the source of the asset is. Maybe someone knows of a good way to manage lists of content in a route.

The way I do it, and its probably *the* worst way ever, is to 'list' the dependencies of the route, delete them all from my local folder and download them again, this way, I 'filter' whats available on the DLS and what is not, so anything that isn't located on the DLS does not get uploaded with the route.

Nope, that's the best way! It's bombproof. Whatever is left 'unknown' after the DLS download is definitely 3rd party content.

One qualification that I would add though is that I'm not sure that I would do that on the install which created the route. One of my Beta guys came up with pretty much what you describe, but the content gets deleted on his install, not mine. I then get a list of non-DLS assets from him which I can chase down quite easily, because nothing was deleted from my install. He then gets my 3rd party links, downloads the 3rd party content and when he shows no missing content the job is done...

That all makes sense - thanks guys. Andy, you seem to have it all figured out. When someone wants to download one of your routes, all the dependencies are listed along with the links to downloadthem. I personally can appreciate that, and thank you for your efforts.

When I download 3rd party content I keep it in separate folders sorted by vendor such as Checkrail then install the CDP's. So either deleting the content or using the second install would seem to work.

I didn't think there was an easy way to do it.

You should be able to list the dependencies of the route, then anything that's listed as modified isn't on the DLS (or has been modified since downloading).
I suspect if you did a bulk 'revert to original', anything that's still listed as modified is non-DLS content.

"Second install of Trainz with nothing added is probably an easy way to check"

If you have enough disk space that's the most foolproof way to do it - make a new install of TS2010 in a different folder, create a new shortcut to that and rename it "default" or something. Launch the regular shortcut, start content manager, select your route and save to CDP. Exit that, launch "Default" and open the content manager from that menu, import CDPs, import the one you just made. Now check that for dependencies, since this is a clean new install anything with an unknown KUID is either stuff you downloaded into your regular game from other websites or your stuff that you haven't uploaded yet.

ok in Surveyor if the building shows up in red it means t not on the d/l station, if it shows up in white it on the d/l station
