what does 2010 really need to perform at its best?

how would it go on mine?

2010 Download

Can anyone assist?

I purchased the 2010 Trainz Stimulator Engineers edition the digital download last night for my son for Easter.

Digital goods only. I registered the serial number and have 5 downloads available under orders. I tried to begin the download, how I get stuck on this first download which is setup.exe. Getting stopped at Set Up path in window saying setup needs the next disk. If the files on this disk can be found in a folder other than the one displayed below, enter the correct path or click browse.

I tried other loacation and get more error messages (please insert the correct disk or select another folder. (don't have this is a digital download)

I did put in a ticket under the helpdesk, however no response received yet.

Can anyone help?? My son wants to play this so bad was looking forward to it and now cannot since we can not download.

Honestly, that is a husband question. I am just following the prompts to download. I am running on Windows 64.

Not sure what 376 means. Sorry I thought I could just download after purchasing.

I omitted the kb on the end.

The default browser in Windows isn't very good at downloading big files. I strongly recommend you download the files again with firefox.

Get firefox here:

Firefox is safe.

In simple terms with Internet Explorer if there is a bit changed as it comes over the Internet it just stores the file, Firefox checks and asks for a resend if it suspects something is wrong.

This is one of those maddening things about computers when they don't work quite as well as they should do. Sometimes I suspect they aren't made for ordinary mortals.

If you've downloaded with Internet Explorer I'm almost certain that you have corruption on one or more files.

Lets try doing this cleanly.

Go into Firefox and click on tools, options under the general tab there are some download options, save to a folder, make a new folder called C:\downloads.

come to the forum using firefox. Now go to profile (top left) order history that will give you the links to redownload the files. Redownload all five files into c:\downloads.

Then when finished use explorer to go to c:\downloads, and run that setup.exe.

So you have redownloaded all five files with Firefox into c:\downloads. Then gone to c:\downloads and run setup.exe from there?

Not sure, but it may be that, when you click on the download, you're given two options, to run or to save the file and obviously if you choose the former, first, option then the setup.exe file will look in vain for the other installation files which actually don't exist on your machine.

Hope this helps, though personally I prefer to have the game on disc sent through the post!

i did the last '09 patch, and now my turnout levers don't respond to mouse imput -- they'll work on auto or not at all. so, i went out yesterday, and, instead of buying a copy of 2010, i bought a kadee ps2 covered hopper -- southern pacific, at 42 bucks, and talking to the friendly people at the trains store... and it's a commitment to my HO layout. i've thought about this over the last year, considered it, wondered if i would play with it, and decided it's what i want. i had a good trainz layout running, and engines i really liked, but they stopped loading, and what does run only has one track to run on. i suppose i'm supposed to delete trainz and re-install and do all the upgrades -- that last one was done automatically for me, so it shouldn't take more than a suspenseful afternoon to douche-out all my content for the third time in the last couple of years. the layout's expensive -- 250$ for an MP15AC, which is way more than the one i was using on trainz, but that one don't load no mo.

( ok, i've got '06 on my system too, but i liked a lot of the interaction in '09, and i think that what passes for scenery in trainz works strictly in the mind's eye. )
