Is there a just drive the train" mode in TS2020? support from Auran?

Wow! I bought a 2002 version of Trainz (Trainz Ultimate Collection I think) for $9.99 and my son really enjoys it. He learned how to build trains by drag-and-drop just by sitting in front of the program.

Then I got crazy and ordered TS2010 and it's simply terrible! After 4+ hours installing and patching (on a brand new dual-core laptop), after less than 10 seconds trying to drive a route, I got "you have passed a red light, exiting scenario" (and it did!)

My son's reaction: "I try to make the train go and it goes beep-beep-beep and scares me".

#1) Isn't there some kind of "just drive the train" mode without all the excruciatingly realistic rules and restrictions? (Hint, my son likes to crash the trains)

#2) Doesn't Auran provide any customer support where I can ask questions like this?

To be fair, I can't really comment on how well Trainz 2010 works for a dyed-in-the-wool adult train simulator fan. But as a game, it's more like punishment!

Maybe there are some program settings that will let TS2010 behave more like a game and dislplay something more like the drag and drop interface of the "old Trainz"? Otherwise, I hope it will uninstall faster than it installed.

My son already wants to go back to "old Trainz".

I think you want a baby product such as 'My First Trainz set', or something aimed at kids.

The rest of us, that bought a *simulation* product, are happy with it being more simulation than kids game.

I didn't even see "My First Trainz Set" before today. The 2002 Trainz was apparently something between the two approaches, but as I've already purchased TS2010 I was hoping it might have some of the old ease-of-use stashed away somewhere if we could just find the right settings.

Another REPLY (to my accidentally created duplicate thread) suggested using just the "driver sessions" and not scenarios.

Hoping for a few more suggestions like that.

Perhaps there is still a drag-and-drop "consist" creator like the old version of the program?
