Is it possible to put road traffic selectively on roads?

Rather than hijack Bobby's thread on the super adapter, I've created this new one here.

I was wondering if it could be possible to place moving road traffic vehicles on selected roads?

In other words, buses and road trucks along with cars run on highways, but don't go down the back roads. But buses will go down through the downtown and on the 2-lane wide roads.

I hope I explained/asked this clearly. Sorry for any confusion this might cause.

Hi John No its not possible to have different vehicles on different roads.

The only way you can, is to have vehicles which are drivable on invisible tracks and use non-traffic roads (possibly beside traffic roads) and use AI commands for destinations.

Thank you for the reply. This is what I figured, but I wanted to ask anyway. Too bad though. ;)

This would be a good idea for a Trainz feature, John. Such a feature could be exploited to create sidewalks with moving pedestrians, moving aircraft in the sky, and other moving scenery.

And yes, your idea of having such vehicles as tractor-trailers drive on the freeways but not on the backroads is a good one. We have lots of backroads around here (heh, I even live in a subdivision off of one) (with lots of old houses and tobacco barns! This is farming country!), and while tractor-trailers can be found on the freeways (including the one just down the road from me!), I doubt that they come down the backroads around here much at all.

Preferably this would be a feature that was set in Surveyor, perhaps in the "Properties" dialog for a stretch of road (unlike the road speed limits, which should also be something that is determined in Surveyor. N3V, do you hear me???).

Regards,

Retro.
