Is it Possible to Backup Downloaded Items to a CDP?

I have backed-up routes to CDP that I have modified myself. Is it possible to backup everything I have downloaded? As an example; various locomotives, freight cars, and most importantly, all of their dependencies. If I buy a new computer, I would like to transfer all of these items onto a new installed Trainz, rather than try to find them, download them, and install them again. If this is possible, how do I make a CDP of these assets?

By the way, I have asked several questions on this forum, and most of the time, receive the help I need. I greatly appreciate all of the help I receive on this forum. I would like to give back by helping others, but I suppose I am just too much of a novice. I never see any questions I am able to answer, that have not already been answered by others.

Thank you
Dean

Yes you can select multiple items and save to cdp but keep them under 500mb otherwise you might get problems, easier is to just back up your local and original folders. If you need to reinstall you just copy them back.

Malc,

Thank you for the reply, but how do I find these items to save? I don't know what has been downloaded in terms of dependencies. I understand your point about keeping the files smaller. If there is too much, I can break it down into smaller files.

Hi Dean,

Highlight an asset, such as a route for example, and choose view dependencies from the right-clicked contextual menu. This will show you what's included on that route. To access these assets, to put into a CDP, you can choose view in main list. This will then give you a Content Manager view of the assets which you can then add to a CDP.

I'll second breaking up the CDPs into multiples. If you make them too big, and you can do this quite easily, you can't always load the content back in. I've done that before and it stinks...

I'll third agree on that. I've had one issuerecently due to backing up too much in a CDP. One of my main Trainz Facepacks for the old MSTNoodle Emily was corrupt due to packing the backed up CDP's content much too full. Didn't have any other errors though.
