Is 2012 really better then 2009?

Your mileage can vary, I'd say. However, looking at the SP1 bugs thread I'm not the only one who has had some serious issues in TS12 SP1 (three of which N3V are dealing with).

I'm surprised no one mentioned TS10 which I thought was a good version. But I have no problems with TS12 SP1 and the hot fixes. Most of the gripes I saw were from folk who couldn't handle doing the upgrade but I did stop reading them after the first few hundred or so. :D

The only gripe I had with 49922 was the inoperable cab controls (mouse driven). Since I like building cabs it was a real issue for me.

Not enough routes? Build your own - much more rewarding than messing with one built by someone else.

I have gone back to TS10, for the main reason, I prefer how the controls looked on screen, camera positions, speed control, lights and horn and so on, so much easier to use compared to TS12, were everything is hidden away. If I want everything hidden away in TS10, I just press the F5 key, and then when I want things back on screen I just press the F5 key again, and I get everything I need to know about, back on screen again.

Please, if N3V can revert how the screen looked in TS10 to be in your next version, and not how it looks in TS12, that will make me buy the next version of Trainz. The way your screen looked in Trainz 2004, 2006, 2009, and 2010, is what made you stand out as easy to use, but this was also your identity, and no one in there right mind should change there identity, as this is who you are, this is how your recognised.

And one other thing, please get rid of that compass in driver, it is so annoying.

Many thanks, rant over once again, blimey I'm doing a lot of ranting lately, I must be getting old:eek:

What? All this stuff is down the bottom right. Some of the other stuff is hidden, but the main stuff is down the bottom

I couldn't agree more, and the loss of the camera buttons shameful my most use controls.

The strong thoing about Trainz in the past has been the options you could run for your own specific interest and you could configure the game to what suits you, Now N3V seem to be deciding whats best for you, bit like gumments really, Why can't we have options to have Camera buttons, Turn off those stupid Junction Padlocks, Remove that stupid Junction Lock behaviour when a train is approaching, option to increase draw distance I heard if you it causes spine to disappear, well let the user decide whats best for them. The Trainzoption file use to have a lot of things you could enter, now alot of it has been removed. This game is continually been dumbed down, powers at be please allow as many options as possible so end users can configure the game as they please its been Trainz strength in the past.

Cheers

Just don't go past 49922 and you will enjoy it.

Got to disagree with you there. Nothing wrong with SP1 HF3 (build : 58414)

Usual assortment of errors, most fixed with an EDR and the rest are mainly missing files and or old build numbers below 2.7 for any content.

I know quite a few people seem to have problems but as far as I am concerned, works fine for me.
