Irish station signs

As part of my present project I have the 6 lines of the NIreland Railways system and working on 3 Irish Rail lines south of the Border plus all the central and approaching lines at Dublin. from different directions. I cam across some IR station platform nameboards but wondered if anyone might consider doing blank ones with that logo. I did contact the member who did the limited number of actual names but got no response. If anyone can fill the gap that would be fine and if not then will just use the standard ones on the DLS. Thought it would have been a nice addition considering I am doing the largest rail build for the island and thus giving further extension opportunities.

You're talking about Domsartos Name boards right??? The type that when you click on the question mark in surveyor then click on the name board then type in Irish version of the place followed by a comma and then the english version like for eg: Cill Mhantàin,Wicklow

Yes FiachralIR but there are no blank ones (with the logo). I have a whole list of stations south of the border to eventually do along with those on the Howth route (will do the Navan too). At Connolly until now I just stock routine ones in and do the same when i reach Heuston and Aimens. The Dublin part is holding me up somewhat as I have been adding tracks around Connolly and further on the west and south. It was just that when I finsihed the 6 lines of the NI Railways in Ulster and was able to use NIR blank station board names it would have been nice to do the same for my Eire extensions. Not that desperate in the end I suppose.

When you are finished moaning, go to the DLS and you will find that I uploaded blank signs on 12/13 December last. Just put your snot rag away and look them up yourself.

What the deuce is that about?

You seem to have a long time past problem that I gave up on a long time ago. Considering what I am presently doing regarding Irish railways on Trainz I would have expected a more reasonable comment than that rather ignorant rant. Where did I moan? I do not have a problme- you have. This goes back a time ago which I had as said moved on from or would not have messaged you in a reasonable way. One would have thought rising above pettiness the order of the day. Having spent time going over the water to attempt my Irish rail scene that no-one else has attempted to the same level I am somewhat taken aback by your attitude. I bear you no illl-will and are you miffed that i am doing this project for Trainz fans who have done nothing like I have. You have done some great things on Trainz and I am trying to do the same but you obviously don't like me doing Irish stuff?

For the more reasonable mindset, I have been spending a lot of spare time when available building the rail situation in Dublin and will continue to do so for now as well as the 3 Irish Rail routes along with the 3 main Dublin stations. The alternative is I scrap south of Newry and just put up my oirginal layout for the whole of the NIR. I have not sneered at you and have no wish for to lower to a nastiness. Maybe I should review what I am doing for Irish Rail routes and the future expansion in your country if I displease you that much. That would be a big disappointment for those interested in what I am doing. You obviously are negative at my project even though I have went over from Scotland and going back over. Who else has made a point of flyingover to another country to do this??

Unbelievable.

Thank goodness most Irish people (and some others here as i have found out) are not of this outdated gruff and ignorance (which has appeared here before). I will continue to build my bits of the IR and around Dublin so others can drive his trains and get a lot of fun. Maybe in time I do hope he comes round to using them on my project too. and appreciates what someone a distance away is doing for the place on Trainz. Now that would be a more pleasant and sensibly, progressive conclusion. Now back to my Dublin City track-laying and I look forward to my trip to get a look at Connolly, Heuston and Amiens St stations. If it rains I wil know who to blame, haha! :hehe:

Why so begrudging? Especially to the nice Scotsman who is building us a train set. You should be busy designing some typical Irish weather for the route.

Incidentally, I had never expected to see models of familiar buildings on Trainz. I grew up with many of them. Nearly as good as seeing the street I lived in appear in Ulysses...

The Irish rail network, at least as it was, is much loved in all quarters of the (wider) British Isles and I have many fond memories of travelling around Mayo and Kerry in the mid-eighties when it was still all jointed rail and the CAF units weren't even a twinkle in some IE executive's eye. I have dusted off my own plans to try and recreate a little corner of the Emerald Isle in Trainz and going forward into TANE, hopefully in a positive frame of mind.

I've also noted with considerable interest the course of the Galway to Clifden branch is now clearly shown on OSM, so that's on the short list for another one to look at doing.

Woah that escalated quickly!!! I don't understand the tension between you two, it seems like your pointing virtual missiles at each other and yet both of you are playing a vital part in Trainz Ireland, Domsarto is creating vast amounts of locos, rolling stock and Irish buildings while Rjhowie is literally creating kilometres of Irish railways, WHY THE HELL CAN YOU TWO NOT GET ALONG!!!!

No disrespect FiachaIR and you are so very wrong in your assessment.

The long gone disagreement(at least by me) on a non-Trainz issue way back in earlier 2013 did not effect me as it did him. Indeed at the end of the thing I said I indicated that Trainz would be the order of the day and wished him the best. Is that a clear enough stance? More recently my PM to him was not in any way belligerent nor satirical or confrontational but pleasantly made. Last year another Trainzer got a sharp reply from him on the forum so with respect look closer home my friend not to Glasgow! And with the last fortnight I complimented him on his latest productions so it is he who has long continued an attitude problem not I. In my enjoyment of Trainz matters you would find it difficult to see anywhere where I have been so grumpy and arrogant. Having been prepared to be reasonable was one-side only by me. If a lesser person i would have just stuck to my large original project which was the NIR and a place I visit often on holiday and took many boys camps to.

However, I got a bit even more like Caesar getting ambitious and decided to go further on the island of Ireland so that Trainz would have a modern and reasonably large offering. To date I have track down to Dublin Connolly, plaforms in and all the approaching track the branch off to Dockside Station, DART Depot and now track west on the 2 lines that eventually merge and then tunnel under Phoenix and by Friday night the platforms and all approaching stuff into Heuston Station. Maybe an odd error here or there as awkward on Google Earth and a puzzling junction under a bridge I cannot work out. Track also goes beyond Connolly to Amiens Street and not far beyond that. Obviously I do not want to be held out by a city scenery and want to get onto working back north all the way up to Newry where scenery restarts. That along with the Howth and Navan branches added to the challenge.

All that is far, far, more important to me than any built-in negativity by anyone hamstrung by negativity. Others have been appreciating what i am doing from distant Glasgow including my trip over to take notes on the NIR and now will do the same for the IR . Personally I am no lame pussycat but neither am i a grugde holder and that corner I leave elsewhere. My over-riding aim is to produce a really great opportunity for Trainz in a part of the world not noted as of yet, There have been a couple of worthy efforts but mine is a modern and today situation which is being done in between health issues. Not only for Irish or N. Irish trainzers but lots of others elsewhere who would like to see this too!

So now I am switching to the building north of Dublin which will be a slow and tying job and in between go back and fill in bits of Dublin! I regard anyone basically on Trainz as a mutual fan association and still exercise the best wishes I extended the without exception last year. So now with central Dublin in place on with things and when I get over to Belfast and take my day trip down to Dublin I do still hope for sunshine and if I get this finished people will be able to run the Irish stock being produced on a wide and modern situation with the added benefit that anyone wanting to go beyond Dublin I have put tracks in place for extensions to anywhere. This is all more important to people (as I have discovered and thanks) than some grump being held on to. Regards to all from a rather fresh Glasgow!

Don't want to keep repeating the facts but I have complimented him in the past AND as I also said here to you did so again here on the Forums within the last week or two that is the passing point my friend. Have acknowledged him without any negatives so have thought he is a good builder with temperamental vibes which I don't have to put up with. Some would have just stuffed the thing but I didn't and moving on. Anywa, once again I put that in the back burner as what I am doing is far more important and although my Irish thing may not be perfect it will open up a whole new opportunity for everyone to see the basis for a vast new expansion on the Emerald Isle!

So on with the positive still! Must say it was a bit frustrating FiachraIR to have been stuck with all that trackage at Heuston and maybe an odd error with points then to find that blooming bride adding to the frustration! I did groan at the thought of adding Heuston as Connolly had me fiddling about for ages but at least it is there of a fashion. For now the tracks out of Heuston go only a short distance west as I really do want to get on with scenery and stations towards Hoth Junction and as intimated go back occasionally and fill an awful lot of scenery gaps at Dublin. Having gone well beyond my original large intention of doing the NIR this is another proverbiual mountain but if I can stick to things then anything beyond Dublin opens up tremdously as everyone will know.

Now must get on to that link you sent because if I have made an odd blunder with points at Heuston maybe I wil get the under the bridge stuff right! Thanks for the link so going to it now.

Oh and I really must get round to a new name for my route seeing it is going to include at least 3 Irish rail lines and the city area and have been thinking of that in between my Irish internet sojourns. It is also my earnest hope that when I get over to Belfast and spend a day down in Dublin (by train of course) that you will arrange suitable weather. Have only been in Dublin once for a brief day trip inbetween my northern adventures but never realsied I would be taking my Trainz as far on. Found on traversing across Ulster had to put up with rain and taking notes on a pad kind of well challenging! :)
