Invisible Track markers

Hello all

I am seeking if possible to place track makers for driver trains to follow or aim for, but would like if possible to have them invisible ie NOT appear on the track....for them to WORK but not to be visible at all.

. I find the icons very destructive of immersion, the route I am making these Sessions for is carefully and meticulously accurate and having a glaring bright icon sitting there on the track blows away any semblance of the illusion of history.

Are there options when we set the marker specs to have it be Non visible? or are there any default or basic markers that to activate or can be aimed for and hit and passed by the player train that WON'T be visible?

the route is very basic, so the sesions will be quite basic, drive from A to B, deliver passengers along the way, or drive to A drop off freight or drive to B and pick up freight and drive to C and deliver. so there wont be a lot of junction setting or fancy manuvers..and very little AI activity as there are only 2 yards to speak of and so there will be a little shuttling around but not much.

thanks for any input on this. I do appreciate how well things have been designed and I can see why many like to have visible markers to hit, pass and so forth but my goal and the goal of our team has been absolute and total historic accuracy in all things as much as possible to try for a new template .... hence my question.

thanks in advance.

Chris

Ditto.

Everything in the Tracks - Add Trackmark tool is invisible in Driver. That list covers Track Marker (red arrow heads), Track Direction Marker (yellow arrow heads), Track Priority Marker (purple arrow heads), Trigger (bilious green 3D plus signs). TANE adds Invisible Track Bump (blue pyramid - why it needs the additional label "invisible" I do not know), Track Circuit Detector (yellow 3D plus sign) and Track Circuit Insulator (yellow 3D T sign).

wonderful thanks very much!! as you can no doubt surmise i am a newbie at this ..so i really appreciate the replies so fast .thanks again !!!

I don't think Track Markers is actually what Chris is referring to (as noted above, these are only visible in Surveyor and in Map mode). If I'm interpreting correctly, Chris is asking about the Navigation Points (e.g. Go ahead, Switch Right, Couple, Stop Here, etc., with the corresponding icons). If I have guessed correctly (apologies if not, Chris) then you can turn them off in Driver by choosing the Show / Hide Navigation Points option under the tools (Wrench icon) menu at the top right.

I don't know if there is a way to set them to hidden by default when creating a session, as the menu option is new to SP2. EDIT, on reflection, I think that when you Create a Navigation Point you have the option to specify the icon as 'None.' I haven't tried using Nav points that way, but it ought to work.

There are alternatives to the built in Nav Points. For example, I believe the built in Check Trackside rule can be used in conjuction with the (invisible) Track Marks and Triggers.

Nav points can be easily turned on or off (i.e. made visible/invisible) with the "Show/Hide Navigation Display" rule. I use this in my sessions by creating all the navigation point sets at the start of the session then hiding them until they are needed.
