invisible track for planes

Hi
I have created a small airport to fly planes, but finding it difficult to lay invisible track. I layout the red track but then it breaks, the problem is when I try to continue the track again it kinks and I'm unable to straighten it again. Is there a technique for laying invisible track? Hope this makes sense.
Thanks

Lay BNSF50 Invisatrack on the ground ... then apply an @ 300' elevation to the spline points.

A curve ... then a straight ... then a curve ... then a straight ... etc ... etc ...

You can plop a blotch of texture on spline points, so as to help find spline points at a later date.

In your Trainzoptions file change the line to reflect -surveyorfov=125 (the numeral can be changed at any time down the road from =35 to =185 ).

Hi
Thankyou for your reply. I have to lay all the track on the ground then raise it all on the spline points, is that correct? The other problem is the surveyorfov added to the Trainzoptions I've used notepad but it won't let me save the file "Access Denied" I'm not sure how to get round this, hope you can help me further.
Many Thanks

~snip~ I have to lay all the track on the ground then raise it all on the spline points, is that correct? ~snip~

That's the way I do it.

I find it best to raise each spline point by hand/eye to form a nice ascent or descent, then use the Apply Vertex Height button to set the larger areas of level flight.

With the TrainzOptions issue, save the file to the Desktop then move it back into the Trainz folder, overwriting the existing one. UAC will ask you to confirm if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Thanks guys for all the tips, laying the track was tricky at first but after a few goes gets easier. The trains option worked like a charm too, thanks Shane.

One other tip is to use more than one type of invisible track if you are flying more than one aircraft.

The DLS has several which are different colours. Many of them are thin wire shaped rather than a flat ribbon, but they all connect up and work in the same way.

The different colours make it much easier to adjust the track for individual aircraft if you want to change or extend the flight paths at any stage.

arwin48.

Another tip before raising the track spline height I always add any Track markers required ( I use them as Way Points ) makes it much easier than trying to locate Inv track when up in the air.
