I've download a few things that are in folders instead of .cdp is there an easy way to install these items? I'm using TS12 FYI. Thanks!

If it's in a folder just drag it into cm, if it's a zip file extract the cdp/folder to desktop and drag it in.
You can do it the correct way and use the import function if you want.

Double-click on the CDP. If prompted, tell Windows to associate the CDP extension with "C:\Program Files (x86)\N3V Games\TS12\bin\ContentManager.exe".

The OP is specifically installing non-cdp content.

DLS content is one thing, but I wouldn't be double-clicking a cdp downloaded form anywhere else.

There is nothing to stop some mug hacking checkrail and replacing pickaname.cdp with pickaname.cdp.exe - it can have the usual Trainz icon and you could be executing absolutely anything.

ALWAYS install non-DLS content by dragging it into CMP, not by double clicking.

@ Post 3 - if your 'folder' contains only Trainz content just dragging it into CM will work fine...

I agree Andy. I never, as a rule, ever, ever double-click on any archive I've downloaded from somewhere else. Always import or drag the CDP into CM. Also have the virus scanner check the User Data folder when importing content. This will better the chances that any malware will be caught. Once the importing process is done, and CMP is closed, you can always turn off the autoscan of the User Data folder because the AV software can impact Trainz performance.

Just remember to turn on scanning once you've finished with Trainz and of course before going online.

Hi All: I always try to use "save" instead of "run", particularly if your downloading from a third party..Also I would rather FPT link from the Black Pages ..However, you must beaware at all times, there is always somebody that will put a trailer on anything..
