installing digital download of the settle & carlise

Hi I hope somebody can help, I have just bought the digital download of the settle and carlise line, I tried to download it through the digital centre. It download okay to my computer, but when I opened it, it said unknown publisher do you want to open file. Clicked on open, it said choose the program you want to open file. There was not one program on the list I could use to open the file, can anybody help and tell me how to install my digital copy of the S&C. I would also like to install it into trainz 2009. Hope some body can help. (I am using windows 7) . Thank you.

After the name of the file type .exe That will make it an execute file, then click on it and it will open. It will ask you for the serial number, which you should have either in an email confirming your purchase or you can get it from your account info.

Try adding .exe to the end of the filename. If this does not fix it, right-click the file, click Properties, then Unblock, then OK.

Unless you have changed the Windows default setting the filetype .exe will not show.

For some reason IE9 and possibly other browsers are downloading the files from Simulator Central without the file extensions and reporting a security issue with the downloaded file saying that the publisher cannot be verified. Hence the need for adding .exe to the file as advised above.

Hi thanks for all your help, but I am still having problems. How do I add the.exe to the file, it is in my downloads and when I open it I cannot see any way to add the .exe. All I get is what I put in my last post. Thank you.

Right click on file > properties > add .exe to end of file name > ok.

To do that, use F2 on the file before opening it to enter rename mode, add the required extension, then press Enter.

Is the same happening with the Jointed Rail diesels sold through N3V as these are in CDP format not exe.

No as cdp's are not executable files.

I thought.it meant that all file extensions were missing. When I bought the Jointed Rail items I was surprised that they were in CDP format.
