Installation of 2010 and 2012

I recently purchased 2010 and 2012. 2012 installed fine. The following message came back as I tried to launch 2010 after having installed it. .
Your computer hardware and or software is unable to communicate
correctly with Trainz.

Ensure you have:

-Installed Directx9

-Installed the latest drivers for your video card. (ie. at www.nvidia.com or www. ati.com)

-Tried both OpenGL and Directx settings. (Trains Launcher->Configure Trainz->settings)

If the above does not work, please consult your manual or visit tech support. Here I am.

Need your help. Why would one install and load correctly and the other not.

Do you have the same display settings in the set up screen for both games? I have found that if I try to use DirectX with Vertical Sync set to Half Rate I get the same 'Failure to Communicate' message
