Inserting Splines

Hello,

I was wondering why some times when you add a spline to track it adds a junction automatically. What causes that usually and how can I prevent it?

Thanks.

If you mean you don"t want the track to join up you simply hold the Shift key down - this stops ANY spline from joining up...

actually no, it's that when I want to insert a spline point on a track at any point on the track line, for some reason it inserts a blank junction point with no other track added...

blank junction point?

You'll have to explain what the difference is between a spline point, which I know about, and a blank junction point, which I have not heard of. What is a blank junction point?

robby2,

In surveyor, select tracks, advanced, insert spline, then click when the cursor is where you want the new spline. It places a spline and nothing else ..
This is in TRS2006, I know nothing re; TC or TRS2004..

Maybe I am also missing your question ?

Hi,

Thats what I do and sometimes it adds a blank junction. By blank junction I mean that it places a switch only with the spline...

This is like one of the "Minimum Information" questions favoured by MENSA.Is it possible to post a screenshot of the problem rather than us trying to guess?

I don't need to guess. He has a straight piece of track and he inserted a splinepoint to the middle of it. When he did, it also added a junction lever, as if he added a separate length of track to form a junction, but without the branch line a juntion would normally imply. Hence, "blank junction".
I've never heard of that happening either. Try running a train over it to see if it derails on an orphan stub. Maybe it's also generating a bit of track in the point.

 Claude

Look closely at the resulting vertex circle. Is it doubled? It may be that you inadvertently double clicked again and actually made a very short track attached to your original circle.

It is easier to see if you switch rotation off.
