I'm just curious...

Couldn't of said it any better Andy and i agree 110%.
Cheers Mick.

I am agreeing with mick and the rest about agreeing with Andy :Y:

My trainz is my sim, my hobby, and also the reason I keep getting yelled at for not completing homework, along with these forums :o

Humans spell things wrong?! And make mistakes? This is madness!!, you have to remember, not everyone was raised the same way and has the same morals, and when it comes to human behavior it can be anything on a large spectrum and how a Person Aproaches a subject like asking a question like, you wouldnt still have that dem, they are being nice and decent about the situation, and you making the person feel like crap creating a thread about the question they asked is a little uncalled for. Also not every person understands the rules and regulations of TRAINZ, after all the lie most told on this earth is i have read the rules and regulations and i accept, cut people some slack and don't be so up tight, im sure it killed your whole day to read a question in your message box that you didn't agree with, it must have, you made a thread about it.

Commas aren't periods.

Don't panic.
I just got off the phone with Mr Branson and he's putting a fresh supply of chill pills on planes to the USA. In the meantime can you all just try to sit down with a cup of tea and wait for the fresh supply to arrive.
Please try to give us more warning when you are running low on the chill pills. :p

Oh dear, you seem to have forgotten about Andy and Jamie and Mick? Could you not be so kind as to send them these pills as well?

(off topic)
Looks like you're getting closer and closer to that 15,000 Euphod. You've got 11,001...

(on topic)
I could probably do with some of those chill pills as well. In relation to people asking questions, as they say, if you don't ask, you don't get anywhere with a problem.

When I started this thread my original intention was to vent my frustration with some of the posts and PM's I have read and received over the last few years. I did. It felt good. I think, however, that I should clarify a few points.

As I said in my second post, its not about asking questions. It has been my experience that Trainzers that have been around for awhile are more than happy to help others. That includes me. Anyone who has followed my thread knows that. The difference is between asking someone for help and asking someone to give you something that took many hours of their time and money out of their own pocket to make. To make the DEM for the Hudson River Valley, I had to buy TRANSDEM. Then I had to learn how to use it, which isn't trivial and required making some practice DEMs. Then I had to spend a number of hours creating the DEM for over 100 baseboards. The work that went into it is what makes the Hudson River Route unique. No one has ever done it before. So, if anyone asks for it, the answer is no.

I've, also, had someone ask me to send them my route so they could finish it for me. I guess they were impatient with my slow progress. It has been 5 years. Again, the answer is no.

But, as Andy has pointed out, that's not my complaint either. If you're going to ask for help, or even to give you something, go ahead and ask it...but ask it in a forthright manner. Don't start with "I'm just curious..." It makes you sound like a weasel...and that's what frosts my b*lls! :D

Cheers,
Fred

I understood the point that you were trying to make from the very beginning and agree totally, but it seems from the posts that some missed the point and it's drifted into something totally different than what you intended. I think all of us are willing to help, but some of the disquised requests are really just 'gimme' requests. If someone really just wants help, just ask and I'll be glad to if I can, but don't ask for help in the guise of asking me to give up one of the meshes that I've worked so hard on. Ain't happening.

I see some of the best content creators we have posting here. Mike, there's so much of your content that I use that I can't name it all. Your one of the few that if I see your name I know it's good. I have also gotten demands for my routes. Some of have started with I'm just curious if you will ever finish that **** route. So I stand beside these guys.
Sam

Thanks Sam. You understand where we're coming from. We're all for helping, but we're not always willing to bow down to the gimme requests.

Has another outbreak of Gimmie pigs begun? They always seem to come out in the spring. I know what you guys mean, I get requests every so often for either re skins or unavailable freeware content.

hert:wave:

Yeah man!! I'm tired of all these gimme pigs asking "can I have this" or "can you give me that?" You people act like it's the food bank that gives out food to the homeless or poor people during Thanksgiving time or a charity to help give clean drinking water to a country in Africa. NOTHING IS FREE. You have to give to get. This TS2009 game I use, I had to EARN IT by maintaining good grades throughout my freshman year in high school. The trains I run on my LOVELY ROUTES I had to pay for them with my own money!! With the occasional exception of birthday gifts, generosity from parents and other family relatives or they bought when I did something good and I couldn't afford it and wanted to treat me to a reward they knew I would enjoy. So stop begging please.

Just remember, watch for the warning signs of a "Gimmie Pig" out break:

Gimme-pig.jpg

It may save your life, day, or mind..........

Beer, pretty girls and T-Bone steaks on the grill are a way of life.
Trainz is a diversion when the other three are not around.

Dave........

Gimme pigs are easily avoided.
Just make crappy stuff like I do!:hehe:

Yeah... sure Ed.... Some redundancy, but your stuff is just fine - I've got quite a few of your buildings on my latest route. Ya know if you put a few of those together you get a cool late 70's to mid 80's west coast strip mall :D
