illegal reskinning?

Hello for those who haven't seen me before.
Now I just wanted to ask this because I would like to reskin some models for trainz in different liverys. now I managed to find mstnoodles emily on DLS trainz 12 special edition and would like to reskin it into a pack with different liverys like GNR green, LNER green and BR black etc. but someone approached me saying under the lines of " illegal reskins" now this was sent to me through email and he said my site was full with "illegal reskins" even though I never ever knew this illegal reskin policy existed in the first place please tell me this isn't true I will be very dissapointed if it is even though so many people have re-distributed his (MSTNoodle's) models and reskinned them if u do now about this please let me know thank you very much

Why bother asking? If you keep it to your self and don't redistribute the skins, you should be fine. I Reskin a lot of content for my own personal enjoyment since the TRS2004 days. I have no plans at all to re-upload or claim any ownership of the content. To this day the copyright police has not come by busting down my door.

since you say you do have a site that hosts re skins. Your just opening up more doors of problems than you really need instead of just keeping them for personal use.

but what if the skins are already redistibuted? will I get heat or will Trainz just completely wipe out my account? because I do already have a few reskins of MSTNoodles and magandys and cmburgess models...I didn't know at the time but people do really like them and I always ALWAYS give a big credit towards the content creators and ask permission...I do apologize for not knowing in the first place and would be really sad if I had to take them down :'( heres the site which I am the owner of. I have had so many people come fourth and tell me how great my content is and I try and expand on creating new Ideas but when I found out they were illegal I was horrified and saw the future before my eyes please I don't want heat off anyone and again I do apologize for not knowing and should of asked first :'(

It's up to the content creator to pursue whatever effort of legal action and resource avaible to them that they are willing to put in. It's best to take it down and say sorry to them at this point.

Ouch! If I were you I'd take down the download links before this gets out of hand. There a couple of creators involved who I know might come down on you like a ton of bricks! Worst case scenario is it could get you banned.

Basically you need to obtain permission before redistributing any reskins unless it says you can in the items description or licence file, if there is one. If you can't contact the original creator, I'm afraid that means you can't distribute them.

It seems pretty obvious that you were unaware there was any restrictions however some may not see it like that.

Might be an idea to learn how to make models yourself which would avoid any future problems or at least ask first before reskinning anything and distributing it.
You can do what you like on your own PC of course.
