If this is how a customer is treated

might be back?
Well, I stumbled across a thread on the RRmods forum. There were wild accusations flying around that I felt were without grounds, and I posted my opinion on it. Without getting into details, there is a witch hunt going on.

Anyway, I am now banned for posting my opinion. The reason was guilt by association.

I guess this is what happens when you are a loyal RRmods customer. They ban you with impunity for trying to calm the mob mentality.

This is a warning to anyone thinking of buying RRmods content. Don't. They do not appreciate their customers, and you are nothing but dollar signs to them.

They claim they are "railfans like us" but I disagree. I would not treat customers like "criminal scum" like they have treated me.

I fear this thread won't last long. You probably realize that, given all that we have gone through before. Your best recourse is to vote with your feet and your dollars, posting here will only cause a mob action... here, and then those will rise to defend, and then the thread will be closed. Sorry for your troubles.

I recall long ago when I worked in law enforcement, that we were warned to never try to break up a fight without ample assistance, because when you do, both parties turn on you.

Well Euphod, I know exactly what you are saying.

The thing is, RRMods is a Company.
As a company, they can be held accountable for their actions by word of mouth of their customers. They gave bad public relations to several customers, and now they need to be held accountable.

I just feel that others need to know that their business will NOT be appreciated at RRMods. You are just dollar signs to them. They dont' care about the community, and they don't care about you or any of their other customers. You are better off investing your money elsewhere, such as in the stock market.

I'm sure they aren't all that bad of guys ... possibly there is a miscommunication, or misunderstanding in a purchase ?

Most business's will cater to legitimate complaints, and at least consider & listen to the customers point of view.

Private forum moderators and members oftentimes subversively collaborate together and take action against complainers, and might give a unjust ban.

How are you doing JadeBullet ... PM me anytime.

Stuff rolls, or slides downhill, on a rainy day.:hehe:

I am sure that not everyone at Enron was a bad guy. Doesn't change the fact that Enron screwed its customers. It seems that leadership is using an unfortunate event to create a giant forum war and I am the first casualty. That is not how you treat your customers.

And I am doing good, besides this. It is nice to have my computer fixed, though I guess this would be a bad time to ask RRmods for my lost payware.

I really doubt you got banned by "association". I've been a customer to both JR, and RRMods, and have had no problems with either group. Both groups have gone out of their way in fact, to make me a happy customer. You made some good points on the forum over there, and I really hope you are correct with your observations/opinions. My guess is you probably got banned because of your other "comment" that quickly got deleted......? I also hope you don't think I'm trying to stir things up further Jade, just adding my $0.02. Feel free to PM me if you like.

I was on a "burn list", and was banned from a private forum, as members collaborated together to give me "bad karma" ... possibly just one person didn't like me, and he single handedly, day by day, hour by hour, vote by vote, intentionally pushed my karma right into the ground, to -128 karma (so I know how you feel) ... perhaps it was my opinions, off handed posts, and my sence of humor ... that was not appreciated by a small, evil, "Click" within (band of brothers) on that forum. So a collaboration between a few high ranking (teenage) forum members voted me out, and started a Witch Hunt.

No big deal ... Just have fun with Trainz ... and know that most payware providers are reputable.

So I got banned just because they felt like it? Kinda hard to be banned with a 0 post count.

I should point out a number of notable forum members have been banned recently for no apparent reason - all bans based on username. almost as if they read a list somewhere...

William :o

What's the point of that karma feature that some forums have anyway? It's basically a like/dislike counter for individual members. It can be a badge of fame or a badge of shame. What's the point of it?

My comment was basically that I didn't think that it was right to accuse certain members of the community of certain actions with no evidence, and that the VERY crude and VERY insulting posting from members of the RRMods forum, and from the RRMods staff themselves was unprofessional. I also pointed out that I had previously been banned from the RRMods forum about 2 years ago for accusing one of their staff of trying to pass off Neoklai75's loads as his own for the bulkheads. (The user was attempting to do just that by the way. Thankfully it seems that calling him out stopped that from happening, even if I got banned for 2 months for, once again, speaking out about something on the RRMods forum that I didn't agree with. [I am VERY against content theft, and would not associate with anyone who stole content. Thus when I see someone trying to do just that, I will call them out, and present evidence as to their theft.])

Also, it seems that Rugrat, Slave_driver, and several other users were just banned from RRMods for no reason what so ever. Most of them didn't even post on the forum and they are banned.

For a company, RRmods has set the bar very low for customer service, and public relations. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they made up the incident in question for the sole sake of trying to discredit other members of the community. That type of business is not the business I can stand with.

I once again urge members of the community to spend your money elsewhere. RRmods doesn't care about you, they don't care about the community, heck, some members might not even care about the rest of their own team. All they care about is how much profit they can make off of you, and quite frankly, it makes me sick that they got over $100 from me over the years.

I faithfully bought their content despite despite popping engine sounds and poorly looping horns. Heck I even continued to buy from them when superior content became available in order to add variety and give them patronage. (as well as to encourage competition to boost quality of content in the game.) I stood by them, I gave them money, and they threw me to the wolves when I didn't agree with the rabble rousing and the drama. I am sure that they would do the same to you without blinking an eye.

Oh, and you may want to watch out what you say. Saying that you even looked at USLW or Jointedrail might cause you to get banned for "association."

Edit

It really isn't either of those things. The point of it is forum regulation. If you get -15 karma you get a ban. This is to discourage people from coming onto the forum and trying to drag people through the mud. The like function is just so that you can reward people for doing nice things. Really though, it doesn't really work. It is just two links, like and dislike that most people are just too lazy to click unless they have some sort of vendetta.

Really, I think that we should personally go to a system like Something awful. Get rid of the Karma since it is "teh worst thing evar11!!!!" according to USLW's non fans(normally people that acted like idiots/immature and got banned and butthurt.), and move to a probation system. You do something that is against the rules/offensive/just plain mean, and you get probated, as in temporarily banned for X ammount of time, be it an hour or even a month. Do it enough and you get banned.

The USLW forums will give you a chance, heck multiple chances. We have members on there that started off dropping in karma, but have since redeemed themselves by learning how to act like a civilized human being. We also have had others who have thrown a hissy fit, secretly tried gorilla tactics to, I don't even know what, by lowering peoples karma every hour for 36 hours, then when called out for it flipped out on everyone, cursed us out and insulted us, before going on to become one of the higher members at RRmods.(yes, this actually happened. I get the feeling that even then, the seeds of discord towards our group were getting sown by certain members of RRmods.

It is a shame when people take a game so seriously that any competition to their business is so much of a threat that they have to declare war on it.

Well thats funny, because many RRmods members were banned from trainzforums.com long before any USLW/JR/whoever members were banned from RRmods. Must be that whole guilty by association thing huh? I for one think this whole thing has spiraled way out of control. This is after all a gaming community, not Wall Street. But I see that now all of us see it that way, so be it. To each their own and all that.

Hi All
As has been stated quite a few times. If you have issues with another user, or group, off these forums, then please take these up privately. The Trainz forums are not the place to air out issues with other groups.
