As a small-time, freeware content creator vanity occasionally prompts me to see if anyone's downloading my KUIDs - and I've noticed an odd tendency.
It is for the main locomotive KUID to be downloaded some number of times, but all its dependencies to be downloaded 1.5x to 2x that number (it varies - those with the most "extra" DLs seem to be interiors). As a matter of idle curiosity, why is this? Is it because,
- some users are building collections of parts (bogeys, pantographs, etc.) which they then substitute onto other locomotives, or keep on hand with the intent of doing so later?
- some feature of the CCP or DLS download process increments the download count an extra time for dependencies?
Can anyone (particuarly users who download dependencies/accessories without their parent locmotives) speculate or throw some light on what's happening here? I'm just curious: not bothered at all if anyone who wants to is keeping whole warehouses full of spare parts.
