Iam lost

Hi - I recently bought 2006. Many years ago I had purchased utz. Having not loaded and played or kept up with trainz Iam now lost. Where do I find the items i.e. layouts, cars, locos ect. that I have downloaded in the past week for 2006. If I remember right in utc I could take the downloads and save them to a cd for use later. Can this be done in 2006? If so how. Thank you for your help for an old man.

You have an option of "OPEN", or "SAVE" when downloading a CDP from a 3rd party site. I usually prefer "SAVE", but it takes up alot of your PC Downloads file.

You can double click on a CDP Icon to install it into the CMP. These usually install as "Open For Edit" directly into the CMP, and need to be "Commited" in order to show up. Or they are saved in "your PC "Favorites", "Documents" or "Downloads" files (which can be transfered and loaded onto a DVD-RW, Memory Stick ... etc ...) for future use on another PC, or Trainz re-installation.

All your assets and routes are saved as mysterious encrypted named files in your Trainz "Local" file (which can be saved periodicly on a "External Hard Drive" in case of catastrophic PC failure).

Jhawk,
You don't have to worry about finding where stuff is stored. Starting with Trainz version TRS2006, you have to use the Content Manager Plus (CMP) to look at, download, modify, etc., any of the assets (kuids). The reason for CMP is that the committed kuids are in a digital format instead of a text format that UTC used.
