I was just wondering..

Enjoying Trainz..for now
Hello people.

I was just wondering, is there any way to convert a local asset to a built-in asset?

I know it can be done the other way around, but i`m interested in Local content folder->.ja file..

I know this has been done by the guys that brought us TRS2005, that special edition..

I have no comercial intents whatsoever, I just want to experience something new with my personal copy of Trainz.:)

I'll jump in and say NO. To add to the .ja file requires that you know the structure and format details (or a working .ja editor). I think all that stuff is proprietary to Auran. Just my opinion.

Well, I have no problem at all if I work along with Auran or with their editor/archiver; like I said before, I have no comercial intentions, thus I only want to make Trainz more personalised.:)

If the guys at Auran decide to sell the personalised version, it`s their choice..I`m sure that the ideea of having individual versions of standalone games, with country-specific content would be a major benefit for us Trainzers.

For example, I`m sure the Polish Trainzers don`t need external content i.e. american, british, south american, whatsoever.. I`m sure that at this point there is a lot of content avalable so as to make a German, Polish, Romanian, French, Italian, etc. version of the TRS, with specific interface, content, language, etc.

I invite users to an open debate.

Hello DaSnakke,

This is a great idea, it would be very interesting to have a romanian (for example) version of TRS. Something like TRS2007 is for the germans :)

I personally never used the british rolling stock or the american and i always have to scroll through all the built in cars and locomotives to find the ones im interested in. And the same happens with all the buildings and objects for routes. Too many british and american (although i understand that this is a marketing strategy) but i honestly dont like them as much as i like european. :D

It would be very good to have a personalized version of TRS depending on what you are interested in and , of course, to be able to add the content of your choice whenever you want.
