When I bought TRS2004 it came with additional service packs. These were easy to install. I had resisted buying any further issues of Trainz because I was happy with TRS2004.

Recently I purchased TS 2010, and again it comes with yet more service packs, which are not so easy to install, unless I'm missing something.

The main difference with TS2010 patching is that if your version is direct from N3V (or certain regional versions) there is an auto-patch method available by clicking Options on the Launcher, then Planet Auran, then Patch Trainz.

As always though, turn off your antivirus software before patching to minimise patch-related issues.

With all due respect looks like you bought and registered TC3 and TS12.

My TRS2006 trainzbuild 3337 and comes ready to run at it highest SP (no patch required) so it was a no brainer to install, like plug & play.

I found both TS10 and TS12 to be very easy to patch (overnight, while you sleep, and on through the part of the next day).

I found both TS12 non-SP1 ... and TS12 SP1 very easy to install (I have both TS12 versions installed, as separate stand alone versions) so I can run the NKP Berkshire, and also retain compatibility mode.

If your video card is fast, as well as your PC CPU speed in GHz being fast ... you will notice a vast improvement over TRS2004 & TRS2006

The only reason I still use TRS2006 is because of the "no layers" in surveyor ... and TRS2006 surveyor is easier to use.

With all due respect I no longer use TC3 and since the change from Windows XP to Windows 7 the downloaded version I have of TS12 wont install.

I say... Re-download it or fix your computer.
As far as I know there are no different install versions of TS12; all are windows 32-bit.

I see, you resisted buying after TRS2004, but ended up buying in the long run. Got it.

I would use a download manager on your next attempt, its the only way to ensure integrity with such large files. (Note that they prefer you don't use one for bandwidth reasons)
