Hi,

I were able to restore all datas after a HDD crash, but every time i start trainz now i get the 'updating asset database' window. after 4h i have still 200000 of 220000 assets unchecked!!! I don't have the time to run this :'(:'( I only have 4h every day per weekend on my PC, its a restriction from my parents. Its even a wonder that i were able to try this sh!t in the last three days, but it takes too long :( I really need a way to skip this, or do i have to leave trainz completely???

Question to N3V: Is that what you call customer friendly, hm??!!

Felix :'(

All the details are on my tutorial website. Have a look in the thread in my signature for a link to the relevant tutorial.

If you get stuck, let me know, and I will do my best to advise.

I type in the correct path and it does nothing :( says path not found:

awwww

PS: I know its german, but 'Befehl nicht gefunden = command not found'

OK - I see the problem. You need to enter the full path to trainzutil.exe (using " at the start and end if there's spaces) then add repairdatabase at the end. TrainzUtil.exe is in <trainz install folder>/Bin.

Shane

I need to double-check what path you are entering. It needs to be the full path to the folder where you installed Trainz to.

That's interesting. The Properties box says it's in Program Files (x86), so try replacing Programme (x86) with Program Files (x86) and see if that helps. If not, I do have other ideas.

Shane

ARGH Windows is so silly -.- I had to enter 'Program Files', not programme (x86), even if explorer showed me last one :) It works now

That's Windows for you. Be aware that the command-line repair will take a short while whilst TrainzUtil and TADDaemon do their work, but it should prevent it needing to do one next time you launch Trainz.

No problem - hopefully my advice will help you fix the issue, as I don't want to lose my reputation for helping out people with technical issues...

Since you're on the topic, Shane, is a "TrainzUtil repairdatabase" the equivalent of a "Quick Database Repair" in Content Manager? It seems to take about the same time as one, but not as long as an "Extended Database Repair".

Andrew

OK, Thanks. I actually like the "TrainzUtil repairdatabase" better as it doesn't seem to have to log in to PlanetAuran like CMP always does.
